About this location
The Dumfries and Galloway region
Dumfries & Galloway has a number of great towns and villages from the coastal communities to the highest village in Britain and the three towns dedicated to food, books and art.
Discover a region where unspoiled natural beauty thrives, from the sandy shorelines to the highest peaks. Explore a Forest Park, ancient wood or enjoy a stroll while watching for wildlife.
Portpatrick is a part of the world where you can forget the stresses and strains of everyday life and relax into a time that you thought was long past. Take a stroll to one of the local pubs or restaurants and enjoy a drink as you watch the boats come and go, or take a picnic to one of the many deserted beaches up and down the coast. If you're feeling a bit more energetic, there are spectacular 18-hole and 9-hole golf courses above the village, and lots of cliff and woodland walks. The Southern Upland Way, a walking trail that crosses the country from West to East, starts beside Portpatrick harbour

"From the top bedroom you can wake up to blue sky and sparkling water all the way to Ireland"

"If only .... the conservatory (?) had not been leaking - and in a poor state!"
Lovely cottage, well appointed, with nice touches. However, needs some T.L.C - and that awful " dining room " ( conservatory ) needs some repairs, cleaning and a smaller table, ect..The… More
Our main concern is that people enjoy this 150 year old cottage. We are very sorry the guests had a leaking conservatory. This was due to the neighbours' blocked drain and it has now been repaired. We always advise that people let us know if there is a problem so that we can attend to it immediately. We have many people who return year after year to the cottage.
