A great place to escape to and take a relaxing holiday with fantastic scenery and rolling hills to bike,walk or drive through.
Beautiful white sandy beaches surround the area and are great for boating,fishing and walking. Stranraer has a swimming pool and leisure centre and plenty of parks for children. There is a Marine life centre and aquarium near Port Logan and lots of famed gardens (Dunskey walled and woodland gardens & Logan Botanical garden) nearby.

Both properties have large lawned areas surrounded by woodlands and wildlife overlooking a wildlife pond on a lovely country road. Great for all outdoor activities eg football tennis volleyball ect. Fantastic for barbecues relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

The Dumfries and Galloway region
There is plenty of beautiful scenery and country roads with rolling hills and spectacular views.
The Galloway Forest is good for mountain biking walking and wildlife watching.
Wigtown is renowned for its Book Festival held annually and the osprey nesting area.
Scotland's most southerly lighthouse is situated at the Mull of Galloway with bird reserve and tea room.
Port Logan with its long sandy beach, fish pond and gardens is recommended.
Day trips to Ireland from nearby Cairnryan ports can be taken.
The Portpatrick / Lochnaw area
Portpatrick is an old fishing / shipping port now a beautiful bustling harbour with rustic charm.
There are pubs and excellent restaurants, play areas, craft shops etc.
Lifeboat week is July / August and the Folk Festival is September.
Plenty of golf courses, walks and places to explore.
There is a lovely sandy beach and rocky coves to explore.
Portpatrick offers lots to do eg fishing, bowling,putting,tennis .
Dunskey Gardens tea room, maze, walled and woodland gardens is worth a visit.
Pony Trekking is available - just a 15 minute walk away from the property.
Nearby are Labrax and Saltpans beaches
How to get there

Fly to Glasgow or Prestwick airport, take a train or bus to Stranraer or by car. It is 6 miles from Stranraer to Lochnaw.
Travelling by car on the A77 head for Stranraer, once in Stranraer take the 3rd exit at the 1st roundabout, then the 1st exit on the 2nd roundabout (heading towards Kirkcolm / Leswalt), follow the road for approximately 1 mile, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit (sign posted Leswalt). Once in Leswalt turn left at the church (sign to Portpatrick), follow the road for approximately 2 1/2 miles then turn left (sign to Portpatrick). Cairnhapple house is the 1st on the left and Lochnaw cottage is immediately afterwards.
Travelling by car on the A75 head for Stranraer at the 1st roundabout (Morrisons) take 1st exit and follow road through Stranraer and at mini roundabout take 2nd exit, follow road to T junction then turn left, at roundabout take 2nd exit (Sign posted Leswalt). Once in Leswalt turn left at church (Portpatrick), follow road approx 2 1/2 miles then turn left (Portpatrick). Cairnhapple house is the 1st on the left and Lochnaw cottage is directly after.
Travelling from Portpatrick turn left towards Dunskey Gardens and follow road approx 6 miles and Lochnaw cottage is on the right with Cairnhapple house immediatly after.
