The Peloponnese region
The region of the Peloponesse is the southern most point of mainland Greece, and in fact, an island, since the completion of the Corinth canal in 1893. The Peloponnese is a perfect destination for holiday in Greece. Stunning sandy beaches and crystal waters, Olympia - the birthplace of the Olympic Games, ancient cities, the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, and so many other wonderful places that are worth visiting. Medieval remains, old Venetian castles like Nafplio, Methoni , the Towers of Mani and the Byzantine places of Monemvasia and Mystra all make the Peloponnese a truly magical region in Greece, and one that offers such a vast wealth of natural beauty.
The site of Ancient Olympia is one part of the Peloponnese that everyone should try and visit. It was here that the original Olympic Games took place in ancient times, and visitors can gain a fascinating insight into the origins of the Games. You can visit the museum as well, which houses a wonderful range of ?Exhibits and findings from the area.
The Porto Heli / Agios Emilianos area
The 2 villas are located in a richly green environment on the rocky coast of Agios Emilianos, Porto Heli is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Surrounded by pine clad hills, the village is situated on a vast bay, providing one of the safest natural harbours in Greece, which today has been transformed into a cosmopolitan port without having lost its traditional Beauty .
Each area around Porto Heli has its own special character and most people like to do some exploring when on holiday.Water-skiing,water sports, are available at coastal resorts. If you want to stay close to the sea, there is an many islands to visit. You can start with the popular whitewashed island of Spetses, 10 minutes by small boat or water taxi from the Costa. Followed by a visit to Hydra, an artist’s traffic free paradise, or drive up the coast through the lemon groves to Poros.
The intriguing walled city of Monemvassia, though not strictly an island, is well worth a visit. It is reached after a peaceful 3 hour journey by excursion boat along the Peloponnese coast. It is essential to visit inland Peloponnese. It has a mystical beauty emphasized by the constantly changing light and colours in the mountains and around the ancient sites. The area is easily reached by road or sea from Athens and there is a wide choice of daily flights both schedule and charter into Athens.

BY CAR: Costa can be very easily reached from the capital Athens by car. If leaving from Athens International Airport, or from any other point across Athens, you take the Attica road to the direction of "ELEFSINA" all the way to its end and you then continue on the Athens - Corinth National road (E68). When you reach the Isthmus Canal take the exit to EPIDAVROS to the right to continue on a well sign-posted road with many signs along the way showing the direction to Porto Heli and Spetses, that winds through the soaring mountains of Argolida in stunning scenery with breathtaking views over the Gulf. Once at Porto Heli you will find the roundabout right at the entrance of the town and you will follow the sign to Costa just 6 km away. Before reaching the port of Costa turn left at the sign “Spetses" to drive past the car parking lot which you will have to your right. When you reach the peak of the uphill road, you will turn right down the hill to find the 2 villas at the end of the unpaved road to your right. Total distance from Athens is 200 km.
BY SEA: Costa can be reached in only 2 – 2.5 hrs by flying dolphin from Greece’s main port of Piraeus. Dolphins depart for Porto Heli 7 times a day Monday through Sunday in summer and less frequently in winter. Fare costs €33 per person one way on economy class.
