The Mallorca/Majorca region
The apartment is located just outside Porto Cristo, along the eastcoast of Mallorca. Porto Cristo is a small town, situated on a hill, looking out on a small fishersharbour. You can relax in one of the many cafes along the boulevard or on one of the sandy beaches. Porto Cristo is well known of the Caves of Drach, which will lead you to the largest underground lake of the world. You will find the beach "Calas Anguilla", on a 10 minute walking distance of the apartment, and 2 minutes by car.

Shopping The best town to shop in the neighbourhood is Manacor, especially the shops around the centre-church are of good quality. For a serious shopping-day, you should visit Palma.
Factory Oulet Festival Park, a factory outlet with an offer of more than 40 international brands with a discount of 30-70%. Levi’s, Mango, Camper, Nike, Quicksilver, Reebock, Dockers, Lloyd. From Monday to Saturday from 10.00 till 10.00 Sundays from 10 until 16.00. Highway Palma-Inca 7 km.
Children Besides the safe beaches at Cala Anguila, Cala Romantica and the comfortable pool at the complex, we can recommend you the following places to visit with children:
Zoos Mallorca has a number of Zoos and animal parks. Those worth a visit are Marineland at Portals Nous near to Palma Nova on the south coast, Exotic Parque near Calas de Mallorca, the Aquarium at Porto Cristo, and finally the drive through Safari Zoo near sa Coma
Safari Zoo - Sa Coma On the road leading into Cala Millor and Cala Bona, is the Auto Safari Zoo. Visitors have the choice of driving around the 4km circuit in their own car, or taking the zoo’s own mono train, although having seen the damage a group of hungry monkeys can do in a matter of seconds I think the mhini train is a better option. Besides the monkeys, the park also has a number of giraffes, zebra, and elephants along with lions, tigers and other big cats. Contact details for more info : Auto Safari, Sa Coma, Telephone : +34971810909
Caves of Drach, Porto Cristo The caves of Drach is the most popular of caves with the visiting tourists. There are three main caves, Cueva Negra, Cueva Blanca and Cueva Luis Salvator, at the end of which is a place called la ventana (the window). Through la ventana there is a huge lake, now know as Lago Martel, behind which is the latest discovery of the caves, now known as Cueva de los Franceses.
Waterparks The biggest waterpark on the island is Aqualand El Arenal which, as its name suggests, is on the outskirts of the resort of El Arenal. In addition to this in south of the island there is also Aqualand Magaluf and the Western Park both in Magaluf. The only other waterpark on Mallorca is then the Hidropark in Alcudia on the north coast.
Aqualand, El Arenal Aqualand el Arenal is located near the El Arenal beach in the south of the island. It offers visitors the opportunity to spend an unforgettable day with their families and friends enjoying state of the art attractions such as the Banzai, the Grand Canyon and the Devils’s Tail. Also, three great areas for children: the Mini park, the Dragoland and Polynesia. Relax at the end of the day on the fantastic green lawns or in the Jacuzzi.
Boattrips From the harbour of Porto Cristo, you can go on a boattrip and hop on or hop off on diverse nice beaches along the coast.
Beaches The apartment is close to a number of beaches all with white sands. Playa Anguila is within a short walk and is set within a secluded cove. Porto cristo itself has a beach set back from the road.
Sports Besides a variety offer of watersports, I like to mention you the following:
Golf The apartment is approx 20km from 5 golf courses, 4 of which are 18 hole, and 10km from Vall Dor Golf Club. [http://www.valldorgolf.com ] Location : SouthEast Mallorca, between Cala dór and Porto Cristo approx 15 minute drive. Vall dÓr golf course is situated in the Municipality of Felanitx, only three kilometers from Porto Colom and seven kilometers from Cala d’Or. This course also offers some magnificent views of the Mediterranean.
Tennis The Porto Cristo Novo Tennis Club is only a few minutes walk.
Walking Mallorca offers plenty of scope for walkers, ranging from steep mountain routes to easier coastal paths, however, it is widely recognized that the best hiking on the island is in the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains along Mallorca’s north west coast. The tourist information service have also produced a free leaflet entitled “20 Hiking Excursions on the Island of Mallorca”, which can be picked up from any of their offices throughout the island.
Cycling Mallorca is a popular island for cycling. If you like you can have bycicles delivered at the apartment and discover the surroundings by bike
