Porto Colom area
This area of Majorca has a number of very good beaches, most of which are very accessible from Porto Colom. The main beach of Cala Marcal is about 500m from the centre of town, and takes around 10 minutes to walk to. During the summer months it's cleaned every morning and has a lifeguard on duty, and as a result it has been awarded the internationally recognised blue flag. The beach slopes gently into the sea and is still only a few feet deep some 15 to 20 yards away from the shore, making it ideal for children. During the summer months it's not uncommon to see organised sports competitions like volley ball and beach football being held here, and sea taxis also depart throughout the day to the nearby beaches at Cala d'Or and Cala Figuera.
A trip to Mallorca wouldn't be the same if you missed one of the local Fiestas. The two we know of around Porto Colom are, The Fiesta of the Three Kings, which takes place early January each year. Which is likely to be missed by most, if not all, of the visitors to the island, and the more popular "La Verge del Carme", which is held during mid July..

Further details indoors: The accommodation, without exaggeration, can best be described as luxurious and extremely spacious. Access is through solid wooded double doors to a lovely welcoming hallway which leads to a massive sitting room / dining room some 17m long and 6 m wide! All the furniture is of the highest standard; comfortable settees and chairs, beautiful polished dining table to seat 12 people, a superb sideboard and coffee table. There is an feature enclosed fire place in the salon, which has air conditioning available for your comfort. Entertainment is provided here by way of a Wide screen 42” Plasma TV with Home Cinema system, Digital Satellite receiver and DVD player. There is a feature archway from the dining area to a large fully fitted breakfast kitchen equipped with all modern appliances (see list) and an additional TV set. There is a separate utility room and store room off. From the hallway a corridor leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms. There is a superb master double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a second double bedroom and a twin bedroom plus a luxurious family bathroom, accessed from the corridor. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, fans and patio doors to the covered terrace and pool areas. All the accommodation is on one level.
Further details outdoors: Patio doors from the living room and bedrooms lead to a large ‘L’ shaped covered terrace going round two sides of the villa and benefiting from patio furniture, a brick built BBQ with Pizza Oven for Alfresco dining. A second music system is available here also. From here, there is access to the sun terraces, lawns and extensive well kept gardens that surround a 10m x 5m swimming pool, which is equipped with roman steps for easy access. A feature Gazibo and a carved stone table with benches can be found in shaded areas of the gardens; there is also an outside shower room for added convenience. Wandering around the grounds to the front of the house you will find a separate, attractive Italian sunken garden complimented by a well stocked ornamental fish pond and a small games area. Off road parking is available for at least four cars within covered and shaded areas. The villa, with countryside views is completely private, offering a peaceful and tranquil setting for a relaxing holiday.
