The Costa Verde region
Porto, divided between the river Douro and the Atlantic Ocean, is a coastal town that is proud of its people and where the eyes and soul are filled with beauty.
Porto is known for giving its name to the port, and is like a balcony over Vila Nova de Gaia, a city that hosts the caves! Boavista is a good starting point for the city's port. It's an area where you can visit the most recent and modern cultural space of the city: Casa da Musica. Following Avenida da Boavista below, we come to the Garden and Museum of Serralves. This museum can find fabulous Portuguese contemporary art exhibitions and international, to also visit and enjoy its magnificent gardens. In the center of town, how about a visit to some of the most remarkable monuments of Porto, as the Tower of the Clerics, the Carmo Church, the Cathedral and the National Theatre S. John (you can find all the information necessary for a site visit to the city of Porto Tourism).
There also would like to walk along the Rua Miguel Bombarda and visit some of its art galleries. At night, I recommend going through a street of Paris Gallery, new location in the city of young guys. This area is known for its cosmopolitan side, with normal to find here people of various nationalities who are working or studying in the city and looking for some fun.
Another day, nothing better than a night at the Cais de Gaia, close to the traditional Porto wine cellars. It is the ideal place to enjoy the sunset, the sun reflected on the Douro River, accompanied by friends and a port wine.
But never forget to do the walk along the sea, the beaches of Foz, where you will find the most beautiful terraces and restaurants.
In the center of the parish's oldest Port, near the Church of the Oak (year 1760), cultural heritage, the richness of the tiles of the facade. It is the only ancient village of Porto maintaining traditional trade and a life quatidiana of people who inhabit the neighborhood. It has banks, pharmacies, restaurants, bakeries, terraces ....
At 100 meters from the Arca D'Água Garden (Ark Water)
Festivities in Honour of NOSSA SENHORA DA SAÚDE: 30 JULY TO 15 AUGUST.
EVERY DAY'S NIGHT MUSIC, DANCE AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.
IN THE GARDEN Arca D'Água
Festivities in Honour of Senhor do Padrão e Senhor dos Aflitos (Parish of Cedofeita - Parish Carvalhido - 17, 18 and 19 July)
By March 1882, when the contract was signed to supply water to the household between the City and the Port Company (Compagnie Generale des Eaux pour l'Etranger), citizens of Porto who lack private wells, they had to supply the sources and fountains that existed in the city.
These sources and fountains were supplied by several rivers, which they were was born in the Arca D'Água Garden.
One of the sources of water in receipt of this aqueduct was the "Fountain of Mijavelhas." This source was located where today we have the Metro station Field Aug. 24. Anyone who has used the station must have noticed that with all certainty that the archaeological site was found and portraying what was the "Ark Water Mijavelhas" old fountain reservoir. Its reconstruction quickens the memory of all the inhabitants of Porto and recalls its history.
100 meters from Boavista where is the famous "House of Music," the biggest concert hall in Porto Musical. There is located the most expensive hotels and the best shopping centers.

"Very nice and comfortable place"
The house is very nice and well equipped. While not very close to the city centre a taxi into town only costs about 5 euro. Plenty of shops around and easy to get to by car and metro. Very comfortable stay

"Not a good experience"
These people are very savers.
We have to complaint twice and get cold during 2 days, until they definitely put on the heating.
The same with the electricity. We just put the oven & start cooking and the light was off, so we had to call them again.
Bad manners also from the owners.
By the way, it is not as close to the city center as they say. We have to take the car to go everywhere.
