Seagul Cottage is situated on an acre site which over looks the beautiful Island of Valentia which has many hidden jewels, From Seagul Cottage you can walk to the small fishing village of Portmagee and take a boat to the world renown Skellig Rocks , here also there are diving trips organised by local and very experienced divers.
Portmagee also boasts one of the finest pubs/restaurants in the country with the finest of food served all day until 9pm , there is also the moorings restaurant which is also run by the bridge bar bookings are needed for the restaurant.There is the local shop and post office situated in the village also. Golfers can take a short drive to Waterville where there are 2 Courses and also lake fishing can be booked in Waterville.
Just over the mountain about 3k there is lovely sandy beaches and also a surfing beach.

Portmagee is situated in south Kerry just off the Ring of Kerry , it is 15k from Cahirciveen. From Portmagee you can visit the World renown Skellig Rocks where the Monks once lived , there is boat trips going Daily from Portmagee and bookings can be made locally .Accross the water you can see Valentia Is it is a place that is filled with history from the first Transatlantic Cable to the Tetrepod footprints also you have Valentia slate quarry which boasts supplying slate to the House's of Parliment and St Pauls Catheadrel in London.Here also there is water sports for kids and adults.
There is lovely beachs in the locality sandy and pebble, there is also diving available in the area and over the mountain you will find a place called the Glen where there is a surfing beach BEWARE STRONG CURRENTS further on you will come to Ballinskelligs here there are lovely sandy beachs for swimming, also there are many local areas for rod fishing off rocks and boats also.
