WHY NOT AVAIL OF OUR SPECIAL REDUCED RATES FOR ALL MONTHS EXCLUDING JULY AND AUGUST OF €400 PER WEEK WITH FLEXIBLE CHANGEOVER DATES.This villa overlooks a vineyard and is close to the nature reserve the beach and to the canal du midi which is ideal for walking and cycling.The villa has three bedrooms with a balcony upstairs overlooking the vineyard.There are two bathrooms and the kitchen is fully fitted.Bed linen is supplied.This is a very peaceful and relaxed area with lots of old villages of historic interest nearby.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Herault region

Portiragnes Plage is located in south west france on the Med. coastline.The area enjoys 300 days of sunshine every year.There are lots of historic villages and towns nearby.This area is also the largest wine producing region in france.Carcassonne(60 miles) is the largest walled city in Europe with medieval spectacles and performances in summer.Other ancient cities in the area include Aigues-Mortes(68 miles) and Olargues(51 miles).Montpellier(48 miles) is the closest city and has a beautiful old city area.
The Spanish border is one hour away and Barcelona is 180 miles on the motorway.

Portiragnes Plage area

The historic towns of Beziers and the Cities of Montpellier and Carcassonne are one hours drive.The canal du midi is adjacant to the villa and is ideal for walking and cycling.Hot summers can be expected which are ideal for the beach or exploring the countryside.Portiragnes Plage really has all the facilities you could wish for including riding stables,cycle hire,boat hire,local markets,numerous restaurants,bars,shops,amusements for the children and of course an award winning golden beach.

The village of Portiragnes is just a few minutes away with its old stone walls,12th centuary church,local vineyards and wine merchants.The tree lined Canal du Midi is a world heritage site passes through providing many interesting walks,boat hire and cycle tours.

Further out you have the city of Beziers 10 minutes away, which is claimed to be the wine capital of the world.Beziers has lots of shopping with many hypermarkets, restaurants and pavement cafes.On friday there is a flower market.There are also various cultural festivals run during the summer months.

Agde 11 miles away is an old fishing port with traditional markets and many retaurants.

Narbonne 28 miles is well known for roman ruins and a large Gothic Cathedral.Sete which is often called the Venice of france is also nearby and is famous for its seafood restaurants.

Pezenas a beautiful old town is also nearby and is well worth a visit especially on saturday which is market day.

There is an excellent championship golf course outside Beziers called Golf St. Thomas.There is also a golf course in Agde which is also nearby.

How to get there

The following airports are within easy reach via motorways as follows:Carcassonne airport one hour,Perpignan Airport one hour, Toulouse Airport two hours, Montpellier Airport one hour, Girona Airport two hours,Marseilles Airport two hours and the newly extended Beziers-Vias Airport is just ten minutes away. Lyon Airport is four hours away.All of these airports have direct flights from the UK with all the budget airlines.The TGV train service is also available from Beziers which is ten kilometres away.The TGV is available direct to Beziers from Paris and Lyon.All of the above airports also have train links to Beziers which is just 18 Kilometres from Portiragnes Plage.It may be possible to arrange collection from the airport of arrival if required.Please enquire when making your booking.Ryanair have just announced a new route from Bristol to Beziers airport which is only 7 KMS from this villa.Rodez airport is also an option located 90 minutes from the villa.
