The Cornwall region

The West country is an ideal holiday destination, especially Cornwall. Cornwall has a diverse landscape and two very different coastlines which are only an hour apart from each other. There is wide variety of things to entertain all the family no matter what the weather.

Sailing, surfing, bike riding, horse riding, kite surfing, walking, hiking, swimming are just some of the sporting activities available. There is also a strong cultural side to Cornwall and many fantastic art, pottery and photographic galleries to see.

Cornwall also has a wonderful Celtic history to view and some beautiful and inspiring gardens to sea. There are also the many family attractions such as Flambards and Dairy lands.

Porthtowan

Porthtowan's large sandy beach, bordered by rock pools is perfect for all the family and is patrolled by lifeguards throughout the season.

Added to this Porthtowan is one of Cornwall's most renowned surfing beaches with world class barrelling waves peeling off its well defined sandbanks when conditions are right.

Each side of the beach has coastal paths with dramatic winding walks leading up to breathtaking views that satisfy and inspire even the most seasoned rambler.

Porthtowan is a small village with a buzz in the air! It has two bars serving fantastic food and welcoming children.

The Blue Bar is on the beach where you can watch the sun go down and, if inclined join in with it's night-life activities of terrific live music and DJs.

Porthtowan has all the facilities one needs for a holiday close by. Within walking distance is a post office, an ATM cash machine, a Londis mini-market and of course surf shops, which hire out surf equipment and give lessons to suit all ages and ability.

Locally there are riding schools, golf courses, theme parks, fishing excursions and swimming pools, walks across the cliffs are among the other many attractions to suit any age and all weather.

Just got back from a weekend staying here, and have fallen in love with both Porthtowan and the apartment. It was both romantic and very chilled for myself and partner. The apartment was immaculate, a… More

"view is the best thing going here"

The view and sea facing living space is amazing but there was one thing which we thought would be OK but became annoying which was the metered electricity supply, when caught in the shower is unwelcom… More

I feel like I should respond to this review. Firstly thank you for taking the time to review the property.
In regards to the electricity meter, it is important to keep it topped up. It takes about £2 per day, dependent on how much is being used and when I stay, I always check it in the morning and in the evening, the times before one is about to use electricity.
I am very sad and very disappointed to hear the apartment was not clean and will obviously talk with my cleaner. The cleanliness of the apartment is an absolute priority of mine and to date my cleaner has proved very reliable but this is why it is important to have holiday makers feed back so we can deal with any issues and improve.
The bathroom is a white beach theme and may not be to everyone's taste but I feel it goes with a beach apartment.
I am sorry your son kept hitting his head on the bunk bed, I guess he is not used to bunk beds, they are a standard adult size bunk bed – height and width.
The price is standard if not slightly cheaper for the Porthtowan area. I do try and keep the price as low as I can.
I am unsure what you mean in regards to the hot water. I popped over to the apartment and met with you faced to faced and answered your questions regarding the hot water. A tank of water is heated up over night on night storage and there is an emersion heater to top up the supply. I did point the switch out to you. The details of this are also in the information handbook.
