Porthtowan, a village on the North coast of Conwall boasts one of the best surfing beaches in the area. It was awarded a Blue Flag in 2010 and is popular with families. It has a sandy beach and plenty of rock pools at low tide. It is popular with walkers as The South West Coastal Path drops right down into the bay from both sides of the beach. The village is surrounded by mining relics, a reminder of the once thriving tin mining industry in this area. Porthtowan has a village store, shops, cafes, surf schools, post office and pub. Blue is a lively bar and restaurant overlooking the beach on the opposite side of the bay to No1 Penventon.

"The perfect holiday home on the beach"

The photos don't do this great little place justice. Its right opposite the surf life saving club so at the end of the garden path you are on the beach. Every window has a lovely view of the beac… More

"Just like home...only better and with stunning views."

What a superb find. We'd looked at other properties in PorthTowan and decided on this as it looked the best - we're glad we did, it was miles ahead of the rest.
The property itself is presented immaculately with every little detail taken care of. It was very clean, extremely spacious, and in the best location of the village - right on the edge of the beach.
The 'crows nest' is a great addition as it allowed extra space but more importantly a second shower and toilet which was a bonus when returning from the sea after a few hours. We didn't need to use the sofa bed but it looked comfy.
The outside decking area allowed for breakfast, lunch and tea to be taken outdoors, with stunning views. The BBQ provided had plenty of use by us.
The rear yard is enclosed and provided a safe area to store surfboards and a washing line to dry wetsuits on - it also catches the sun most of the day.
Inside, lots of little extras were provided, the kitchen was really well stocked with crocks, pans, utensils.....we didn't miss a thing from home.
The beds were really comfy, it was great being able to see the sea from the double bed in the morning.
Overall this property really made our stay in PorthTowan, we're looking at return dates already.

"Amazing views and total relaxation."

We stayed at No 1 Penventon in May and had a wonderful time. The accommodation has the most wonderful view out to the beach so you can sit and watch the sunsets and listen to the waves. Everything you could need is in the house to ensure you have a comfortable holiday. A parking spot is right outside so easy to unpack the car without lugging bags and surf boards around. we will be returning to this idyllic spot in Porthtowan.

"Arrive, unpack and start relaxing to Cornwall's perfect beach location"

It's rare to find a holiday home on a beach untouched by the commercial world. The house is nicely furnished and the crows nest will be a nice addition. Waking to the sights and sounds of the ocean couldn't be more relaxing.

Mary has set a standard which holiday home owners only aspire to achieve. I'm still finding sand in the car which brings back fond memories of staying at No 1 Penventon.

"Great house ,superb location"

The house has everything you could want for a beach holiday. The location is superb , right on the beach. The house is decorated to a very high standard, everything we needed was supplied. We could walk over the sand dunes and be in a bar, or an ice cream parlour. The local shop provided anything we needed on a daily basis.
