About the home
A beautiful, historical, stone built Manor House dating from the 14th Century. Carregfelen is part of a private Country Estate on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, close to the renowned sandy beaches of the Llyn peninsular. The house has stunning views and a wonderful secluded garden in which to enjoy al fresco dining. The garden was designed by the legendary architect, Clough Williams-Ellis, whose Italianate village, Portmeirion, is close by.
The castle dominated Criccieth and the small harbour town of Porthmadog, with it's famous Ffestiniog railway, are both a short drive away. The excellent sailing centres of Pwllheli and Abersoch are close by.
This is a wonderful setting from which to enjoy the very best that Wales has to offer.

The inside of Carregfelen is a delight and is beautifully decorated with an enchanting mix of old and new.
The entrance hall has 16th Century oak beams with a collection of antique furniture.
Cosy Sitting Room with log burning fire in Inglenook fireplace.
Dining Room with refectory table.
Separate Playroom/Living Room with cosy comfortable sofas and a box of children's toys. This room has an open fire and SKY T.V.
A Welcome Pack of local produce is provided.

There is a large secluded safe garden which offers total privacy, with an outdoor dining table and garden furniture. Charcoal is provided for the BBQ.
The surrounding Country Estate is a haven for nature lovers and bird watchers.
There is a natural lake/reservoir where private fishing can be enjoyed.

Carregfelen rents from Friday to Friday.
A mid-week clean is included and extra domestic help can be arranged privately with the housekeeper.
An excellent local cook is available for private dinner parties.
Conditions
A refundable breakages deposit is payable at the time of booking, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
Full amount of rental to be paid six weeks prior to arrival.

The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region
This region of North Wales is steeped in history. Snowdonia National Park is one of the most beautiful areas in the U.K. The Snowdon Mountain Railway takes you up to the summit where the views are breathtaking - you can either walk down the mountain (where a wonderful cafe offering home made ice cream awaits you) or take the train back to Llanberis.
Every corner of this stunning region will take your breath away!
The Porthmadog area
The house is close to Portmeirion, the amazing Italianate village created by Clough Williams-Ellis (who was related to the owner of Carregfelen) and made famous by "The Prisoner" series in the 1960's.
The castles of Harlech and Criccieth are only a short drive away, whilst Caernarfon castle is well worth a day's visit. There are activities planned for families throughout the summer.
Fishermen and sailors will enjoy Pwllehli and Abersoch. Children will enjoy the sandy beaches of the Llyn Peninsular. Climbers will love the challenges of Snowdonia. There is something for everybody in this region.

Yes, we all enjoyed our time at Carregfelen very much. Vivian, Kim, and Anne were extremely helpful and kind. It was a great setting for the weekend and all made for a great experience. AK
We had a wonderful week at Carregfelen and want you to know how lovely we thought the house. It was ideal for three parts of the family - and the sun shone almost all the time, which is not always the case in Wales. RT
Thank you for allowing us to use the house for our holiday last week and the very generous welcome pack. Vivien gave us a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble to her throughout the week. Needless to say we had a very enjoyable family break so thanks once again. SC
