Quite simply one of the most spectacular holiday locations on the sweeping coastline of The Llyn Peninsula:

Set against the backdrop of Snowdonia, Samson Cottage offers views of Borth y Gest Harbour.

Built in the late 1870's by Lord Harlech, Samson House was previously the residence of local artist, Meryl Watts, who used the picturesque lanscape of the Borth y Gest area for her inspiration. Samson Cottage is a cosy 1 bedroom cottage at the rear of the main house (Samson House). This homely little retreat, which in 2012/ 13, underwent extensive refurbishment and redecoration, is now equipped to the highest standard and is designed to be beautiful, comfortable but minimalistic.

With 1 double bedroom and 1 bathroom, a well equipped kitchen dining room, and a good sized living room, Samson Cottage will happily accommodate either one or two people. With the coastal path right on your doorstep, and Porthmadog town fifteen minutes' walk away, Samson Cottage is ideally placed for the perfect beachside and walking break.

The North Wales region

Located on on the northern coast of Cardigan Bay, Borth-Y-Gest is a great place for boating and exploring clean, unspoilt beaches; it also offers quick, central access to the abundance of interesting and enjoyable places to discover and explore across North Wales

Porthmadog is a 15 minute walk away with a larger selection of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a Tesco and Aldi.

The Ffestiniog steam trains can be seen crossing the Estuary from the front gardens

The Italianate village of Portmeirion is close by, as are the historic towns of Criccieth and Harlech; not forgetting the picturesque Samson's Bay.

Other local attractions include:

- Porthmadog Golf Club…

- Porthmadog Sailing Club…

- Sygun Copper Mine – Discover underground adventure through the old workings of this historic copper mine; you can even pan your own copper!

- The Welsh Highland Heritage Railway – Take a train ride on this award winning Heritage Miniature Railway

- The Snowdon Mountain Railway – Ride on Britain's highest track railway and savour the breath-taking views from the summit of this spectacular mountain

- The Great Orme Tramway – Take a trip on Britain's only cable-hauled street Tramway, located only 45 minutes drive away in Llandudno

- Caernarfon Castle – This is more than just a fortress, it's a palace too and well worthy of it's World Heritage status. Imaginative exhibitions inside the towers bring history alive, and the castle's stylish, modern shop offers a wide range of goods.

Porthmadog

The picturesque fishing village of Borth y Gest is a sleepy coastal community located between Porthmadog and Black Rock Sands.

The Village has a shop for basic provisions, two restaurants/cafes and there's also a Tearoom where you can sit amongst locals and watch the world go by. There is also a slipway for small boats

Away from the Harbour, choose from any number of spectacular coastal and hillside walks out of the Village to unspoilt beaches and sandy coves – ideal for a long, leisurely walk or a picnic; alternatively venture into the tranquil woodland of Borth Woods, or for the more energetic, have a go at mountain walking/climbing up the soaring crags of Moel-y-Gest.
