Bwthyn Ty'n Cae Holiday Cottage is located near Porthcawl, South Wales. A five minute walk from the huge Warren of Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes and Newton Beach, the cottage is positioned in beautiful countryside, which offers a peaceful and tranquil setting. Ideally located for those who are looking for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, surfing and wind surfing, golf and horse riding.

The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard to provide comfortable and tasteful accommodation.

Open plan kitchen / dining area / lounge with high quality tiled flooring. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and includes an electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. The lounge area includes a comfortable 3 seater sofa and two chairs, TV with built in DVD player and patio doors opening up to the garden.

Both the double bedroom and twin room have been tastefully decorated and furnished. *Please note that the twin beds are 2'6" and only suitable for children.

The bathroom offers a modern white suite with quality wall and floor tiling.

A purpose built wet room is situated adjacent to the cottage. It is equipped with a shower, washing machine and tumble dryer. It has ample room to store out-door gear such as bikes, surf boards etc securely. There is a hose pipe hanging on the outside of the wet room where all equipment can be washed down before storage.

There is an outside, enclosed garden with decking area where guests can enjoy sitting and relaxing in the tranquil setting and take in the superb countryside views.

- 1 pet welcome - £5 per night. It is also possible to book any additional dogs in at the award winning kennels, also owned and cared for by the owners. This is located at the other end of the yard approximately 100 yds from the cottage.

Bwthyn Ty'n Cae holiday cottage is located in Newton, Porthcawl. It is situated just a five minute walk from the huge Warren of Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes and Newton's pet-friendly beach. The cottage is positioned in beautiful countryside that offers a peaceful and tranquil setting.

It is ideally located for those who are looking for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, surfing or wind surfing as well as golf and horse riding. Within walking distance you will find several excellent pubs that offer good inexpensive food. If you prefer the more sophisticated al a carte there is a variety of restaurants and hotels situated in the centre of Porthcawl.

There are numerous attractions in the area including Porthcawl's many beaches, the Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl Classic Carriages, Porthcawl Promenade Princess and Trecco Bay Fun Fair. You also have Kenfig National Nature Reserve, Bedford Park, Bryngarw Country Park, Parc Tondy, Nash Point Lighthouse, the Heritage Coast Center and Pleasure Steamers. For castles, you have Candleston Castle, Ogmore Castle and Coity Castle, all nearby.

Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes are situated about one mile outside the village of Merthyr Mawr; they are a huge network of dunes, rolling over towards the Ogmore/Porthcawl coast, and once the largest sand dune system in Europe. Merthyr Mawr sand dunes claim fame to the highest single sand dune in Europe, known locally as the 'big dipper'. The dunes are very popular with kids, runners and local wildlife enthusiasts. Scenes from the famous film Lawrence of Arabia were filmed at the dunes.

In addition to the outdoor activities there are also plenty of indoor options such as the Bridgend Designer Outlet, Odeon Complex and Ewenny Craft Centre. Being only a short drive away from Cardiff and Swansea there are also plenty of shopping opportunities and large events that can be easily reached.

Wales is easily reached from the London airports whether you travel by train, car or bus. If you rent a car, you can get from London to South Wales in only two to three hours. By train it’s even quicker, just two hours from London to Cardiff. If you prefer to travel by bus, National Express coach services travel direct to both South Wales and North Wales.
