Scenes from the famous film Lawrence of Arabia were filmed at the dunes.

"small but sweet"
Owner very nice. House very small- no room for drawers in bedrooms so never managed to unpack! Nice lay-out of main room and clean and well-equipped. But...Misleading picture on site of a dog in a gar… More
We were disappointed to read this negative review. They mention that the house is Small but Sweet, however forget to mention that there is an additional building adjacent to the cottage which houses an additional walk-in shower, washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of space to store equipment. In addition there is a rotary clothes line outside as well as a hose pipe to wash equipment.
Each wardrobe has a large storage box at the bottom to store clothes and no other guest has asked for additional draws.
In reference to the misleading picture on the website, the photo is part of Bwthyn Ty'n Cae's portfolio to draw attention to the fact that the cottage is a dog friendly place.
As dog lovers and owners we are only too aware how important it is to have adequate facilities such as dog friendly beaches, country walks and dog friendly pubs. We have great pleasure in knowing that these facilities are available to all guests..
It is very unfortunate and a pity that these guests did not take advantage of the beautiful countryside walks we have here. Once out of the cottage you are directly on a country lane where you can access fields which have a public right of way, where dogs have the opportunity to walk, run and exercise.
In addition to the walks in these fields you also have the dog friendly beach at Newton Bay. Other guests have remarked how their dogs come back exhausted from these beautiful beach walks to Ogmore and walks on the dunes at Merthyr Mawr. There are numerous other walks in the vicinity and all maps and leaflets of the local walks are available to all guests at the Bwthyn.
The garden fencing has been placed in order to ensure the privacy of guests as well as the safety of young children and dogs.
As for the remark that there was occasional barking from dogs, their own dog also occasionally barked. That's what dogs do occasionally.
We strive to make everyone welcome at Bwthyn Ty'n Cae and have excellent local knowledge of the area being local. Our photos show the Bwthyn for what it is, a beautiful four star cottage, with dog friendly facilities on its door step.
