Chalet 'Les Erines' offers fully catered winter holidays between December and April. During other months of the year the chalet has the flexibility of operating on a self-catering, bed and breakfast, half or full board basis - the choice is yours.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

The Haute-Savoie offers an abundance of lakes, waterfalls, caves, cirques, gorges, glaciers, nature reserves and of course the unforgettable Alps.

To the north along the French/Swiss border lies the Chablais area known as the 'Portes du Soleil'. This is the largest ski area in France, where the traditional alpine village of Châtel can be found.

For non-skiers there are many delights including Annecy - one of the most charming and attractive towns in the Alps. Elegant spa towns also border Lake Geneva, such as Evian where you can sample the famous water at its source.


Portes du Soleil / Chatel area

Châtel is an alpine village in the Haute Savoie region of France. It is located in the Abondance Valley, in the heart of the international ski area of the Portes du Soleil. Châtel is on the Swiss border, 40km from Thonon and Evian les Bains, between Lac Léman and Mont Blanc. What makes Châtel special is its unspoilt alpine architecture and its sunny position.

The bustling village centre of Châtel with its many small shops and a weekly market selling regional specialties, has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Aprés ski mainly revolves around the many colourful bars and good quality restaurants. There are also plenty of other activities available in this delightful village such as bowling, two cinemas and ice-skating.

The chalet sleeps 9 people extremely comfortably but can accommodate a maximum of 11 guests, depending on the structure of your group. Each room can be adjusted to suit your party size.

Three of the four en-suite bedrooms can be twins or doubles and the fourth en-suite room can be set up as a triple or single & double room. Next to the triple room is the Grenier/loft room which can also be used for two children in single beds but does have a low ceiling. Alternatively it can be used as a delightful play area/den/tv room.

Two of the bedrooms are situated on the ground floor with the other rooms on the first floor. All bathrooms have full-sized baths with shower, basin, WC and plenty of hot water.

The ground floor is split level comprising a lounge area with wood-burning stove and kitchen area where afternoon tea is provided. All meals are served in the spacious separate dining room which overlooks the garden and decking area to one side of the chalet with views across the valley. There is also a new sauna on this level.

The chalet has a large sunny deck and balcony surrounding it, providing stunning views up and down the valley.

There is also a built-in barbeque and plenty of garden chairs for you to sit on and soak up the sunshine and spectacular scenery.

The chalet also has a heated boot cupboard and ski locker for your use.
