Recently included on our site, Strawbridge House is a Grade 2 listed building built in the 17th century as a farmhouse. Once owned by the MacNaughton family, the house has undergone major renovations during 2013-14 supported by the Historic Building Unit. Boasting many original period features including sash windows, shutters, cast iron bath, the house occupies a stunning position in the quiet Bushfoot area. With uninterrupted views over Runkerry House and the wild Atlantic surf beach between, there can be few better locations for a relaxed holiday on the beautiful north Antrim coast. Location, location, location! Walk out the front door and you are at Bushfoot Golf Club and a small path leads to the Bush river mouth and Runkerry beach. Walk out the back door and walk 20 yards on to the tram lines leading to the Giants Causeway visitor centre and Cycle Route 93. Walk, cycle, fish, surf, golf or eat, the choice is yours, the location is ideal. The house sleeps 10 people with generous outside space comprising restored outhouses formed of black stone and local red brick at the back, overlooked by a raised private patio area and BBQ. A dedicated free play pool room with heating and pool lights provides wet days entertainment. The restored barn with exposed beams, provides space for table tennis, all equipment provided.

The outdoor space is completely enclosed at the rear with sunken courtyard for lazy summer evenings. Inside the house, a large kitchen table provides cosy dining accomodation within the kitchen. A smaller formal table seating six, complete with serving hatch in the lounge offers another option with views over the patio and garden. The lounge is finished in a classic style with a cast iron stove for comfort on colder days. The interior design provides reassuring continuity throughout the house, complimenting the period features. The cinema room boasts a Pioneer plasma 42 inch High end TV, blue-ray player, an Onkyo AV receiver and KEF 5:1 speakers! A smaller cast-iron stove fills the room with heat for a cosy night at the cinema. Situated as far as possible from the lounge, this allows the kids to enjoy a movie while the adults can relax in comfort. If you get tired of the movie, pull the blinds and enjoy the sea view from the comfort of your armchair.

"Amazing, comfortable big house, in a great location"

This house is a really well renovated old house that is on a quiet road beside Bushfoot golf course. The location is great with a 5 minute walk to the beach, and walkable to Portbalintrea harbour, and Bushmills. The house itself is great, the lounge is really comfortable, and the cinema room is really great. There is a great big table in the kitchen/dining area which is great for sharing a meal. I can't wait to stay here again!

"Brilliant house for a big family especially with the games rooms for grown up 'kids'"

I couldn't recommend Strawbridge House highly enough, the house is top class, with superb facilities all round. From the TWO games rooms (Pool and Table Tennis) and a dedicated movie room with surround sound, to the superb kitchen dining area, all tastes were catered for in our extended family and friends break. From we arrived on a Thursday evening, until we left on Sunday, I didn't take the car out of the drive once. We walked everywhere. Great walk along the beach from Portballintrae to the Giants Causeway and on another day we had booked a Whiskey tasting at Bushmills Distillery - so obviously we walked there and back! It was a fantastic relaxing break, my only complaint is that is was too short!
