The Ards Peninsula is renowned for its beauty, history, wildlife, unspoilt charm and other visitor attractions.

Stretching from the market town of Newtownards and separating the shores of Strangford Lough and the Irish Sea, this gently undulating landscape is a scenic mix of pretty villages, romantic seascapes and unspolit coastline.

Strangford Lough is the largest sea inlet in the British Isles and is Northern Ireland's first Marine Nature Reserve.

Portaferry is situated at the tip of the Peninsula where the lough meets the Irish sea.

The area is home to multiple National Trust properties, cycle trails and activities such as kayaking, fishing and sailing are popular on the Lough, and for the more adventurous sea safari's or canoe trails. Activities on land include walking and cycle trails, golf, bird watching and horse riding.

There are also many fascinating attractions to be explored and enjoyed including the vast marine life at Exploris Aquarium in Portaferry.

With over 150 attractions of all kinds in the area, Strangford Lough is just waiting to be explored.
