About the home

Bright modern, spacious apartment, comprehensively equipped, is 5 mins walk from the beach, restaurants, shops and bars on the harbour quays where fresh fish is landed daily. The living room and large balcony look across the harbour . The area offers excellent opportunities for walking, cycling & drives through the breathtaking scenery of vineyards, mountains, pretty villages and ruined chateaux and cathar castles. Ideally situated as a base to tour the region - Canal du Midi, mediaeval walled town of Carcassonne and the picturesque seaside village of Collioure are all within easy access as is the Spanish border enabling a day to be spent in Barcelona.

Good living space with fully equipped kitchen and TV/DVD with sky box to get english channels. Property is fully air conditioned for summer months. There is a shower unit over the bath and a separate toilet.

Large balcony of 20m2 with harbour views with table and seating for 6 or more. Outside barbecue. Beach chairs for use.

Private parking space.
The apartment is situated on a hill and there are steps down to the front door of the apartment block and one set of stairs to the apartment. It is not suitable if you have mobility issues.

Rental is from saturday to saturday at peak times (July-August). Negotiable at other times of the year.
Rates for 4 people staying including linen and towels. Additional bedding charged at £15 per person

Conditions

No smoking and no pets. Deposit of £100 (refundable) for keys and in the event of no damage or breakages, or if additional cleaning is required.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region

The climate is hot in the summer with temperatures of 80+. There is usually a breeze (the Tramontaine) which helps to keep you cool! Renowned for having sun for over 300 days of the year with mild winters.
Within travelling distance to 3 "beau village", Carcassonne, Villefranche de Confluent and Castlenou.
The pyrennees is 1.5 hours drive away for walking and adventure activities and skiing in Font Romeu and Mont Louis in the winter.
Excursions to Elne and Perpignan are worthwhile with the Palace of the Kings of Majorca in Perpignan.

The Port Vendres / Cote Vermeille area

5 minutes from the nearest beach where you can go snorkelling.On the coast there are the popular resorts of Canet, St.Cyprien (Water Park) and Argeles with wide sandy beaches, nightlife, bars and restaurants.
Collioure is only 5 mins drive away (20 mins walk) and ther are local boats and "le petit train" which will take you there and back.
Banyuls is worth a visit for the vineyards and Le Cellier de Templiers is situated there where they give you free tours (in english) and wine tasting.

“Excellent” Four of us had a short break in La Dunette and really enjoyed it. The flat is very well-equipped and comfortable with easy access to the town and a Lidl supermarket. Everything worked well and we had no problems. Recommended restaurants were all very good. Although less well-known than some of its neighbours, Port Vendres is very pleasant, without the crowds others have and also a good base for interesting visits. As Scots we found the Charles Rennie Mackintosh connections and tour very interesting.

“Something for everyone in Port Vendres” This was our second stay at La Dunette and we enjoyed it just as much as last year. The apartment which is spacious, comfortable and well equipped, is located above the town overlooking the harbour.... more
