The East Lothian region
With over 40 miles of stunning coastline, golden beaches, rolling countryside, award-winning attractions, excellent food & drink and the world's finest links golf courses, we have the best of Scotland! It may feel like a million miles away, but it's only minutes from Edinburgh. Come rain of shine there are a number of attractions in East Lothian - Musselburgh Racecourse (9 miles from Seton Sands), National Museum of Flight (9 miles), Scottish Seabird Centre & Tantallon Castle (North Berwick 12 miles), Glenkinchie Distillery (9 miles) and many more.
The City of Edinburgh centre lies 17 miles west of Seton Sands. The City has numerous activities for all the family - shopping at the famous Princes Street or indoors at Ocean Terminal, The Gyle or St James Centre; the equally famous Edinburgh Zoo where you can meet Tian Tian & Yang Guang (Giant Pandas); Edinburgh Butterfly and insect world; international climbing arena; Snowsports centre; Scottish Whisky Centre and Arthurs Seat. There are too many to list.
If you're not looking for the hustle and bustle of the City, The Scottish Borders lies to the south and West of East Lothian. The Borders stretches from the rolling hills and moorland in the west, through gentler valleys to the high agricultural plains of the east, and on to the rocky Berwickshire coastline with its secluded coves and picturesque fishing villages.
Seton Sands is a rocky beach to the east of Port Seton, East Lothian, Scotland. It is situated at the western end of Longniddry Bents and is part of the John Muir Way coastal walk.
The John Muir Way is a 200-kilometre (120 mi) continuous long distance route, which runs between Helensburgh and Dunbar.
Longniddry Bents is a beach just north of Longniddry, the neighbouring village. This beach is popular mostly in the summer months, with local families, holidaymakers, picnickers, horseriders, ramblers, metal detectors, dogwalkers and the occasional kite buggy. The shallow bay is a popular watersports location for windsurfers, kitesurfers and sea kayaks.
Low tide reveals many rock pools, then a flat sandy bed to the north which runs about 200 yards out to meet the Firth of Forth.
The popular Seton Sands Holiday Park is south of the beach.

"Last minute break"
Great time at the lodge. Lodge was located 5 min walk from the showbar, shop and playpark. Fort Kinnaird shops/asda only a 10 min drive! The lodge had everything needed, there is central heating but Leanne also supplied extra heaters to ensure we didn't get cold. Was very clean, decent size fridge/freezer, everything u need in kitchen, comfy couch and beds. Lovely decking area out front, pity the weather wasn't better so we could benefit from it. Only thing I would recommend is thicker curtains in living area as when using to sleep the street lights were shining through, was just a niggle not enough to loose a star. Thanks again Leanne more memories created in a lovely place.

"This was an amazing experience enjoyed by the whole group"
From the time of arrival until we left this beautiful lodge we had an really good time. We were met by Leanne ( manager ) who made us feel so welcome. She showed us around the lodge, told us where everything was situated, gave us information on where we could visit and how we could access public transport if required. There was also some lovely touches such as fresh flowers in the lounge and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The lodge itself was spacious, very clean, tidy and well presented. The whole experience was amazing and we will be recommending this to friends and family and hopefully we will return ourselves in the near future. Leanne, Thank you so much.

"Beautifully equipped and presented property"
Wonderful warm welcome from the owner with a welcome basket and flowers, everything we would need was provided even salt and pepper!!!! Very quiet, clean campsite with good facilities. Edinburgh very accessible by bus or train which was great for site seeing and the festivals as parking in Edinburgh is very expensive. Fantastic place to stay so picturesque with great walks along the coast.
The only thing I found difficult was the lack of internet so that we could book attraction tickets, or research places to visit

"Would highly recommend The Glen as a fantastic choice for a holiday"
Me and my family spent a week at The Glen and could not fault it. Hospitality was outstanding, 10/10 cleanliness and fantastic value for money. Not to mention the communication from the owner who made you feel like you can contact her anytime.
We can't wait to go back xx

i just used this wonderful lodge for a week 31/05/14 - 07/06/14 and can only say what great value for money it is. you have your own tarmaced parking space, all the utensils in the kitchen if your inclined to cook while on holiday, a very comfotable sofa/bed, a twin room & a dooble room with en-suite, freeview tv in the lounge & double room (dvd & a video machine just in case the weathers not kind) the main bathroom is very spacious & with a very large shower area.. you have a nice big verandah & a BBQ if you want to have one i went with my mother who has mobility problems & she managed the 3 steps upto the decking area fine . the only problem with the site NOT THE LODGE or the fault of the owners. is the lack of a good mobile/internet signal (WI-FI is available at the Haven club area) personally i found it great being away from all the technology
seton sands is situated about a 20 minute drive from Edinburgh & is a good base if you plan to tour the East Coast seaside towns (North Berwick & Dunbar are close by) it is also handy for drives down to the Borders ...the Edinburgh city by-pass is close by giving easy access to the west coast & over to Fife.
leanne & Ty the owners are a very lovely couple are very helpful, from my initial interest in the Lodge right down to me e-mailing any question which were always answered quite promptly .. all in all i think if you book this you will not be disappointed. i will be using this again the next time i am up 10+/10 rating

We had the pleasure of being the first guests to stay at The Lodge, and we weren't disappointed. It is deceptively spacious and has a fabulous position sat within it's own plot. The decking surrounding the lodge allowed my son and daughter to play safely with plenty of room.
It has everything you would need for a great holiday in it's own right but benefits from having all of the facilities on site of a fully holiday village.
We will most defiantly be booking again.
Thanks for your comments. We'd love to have you back.....
