Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Why settle for a motel room when our spacious home is priced to cost you less! The Florida region
The Gulf Coast is renowned for its white sand beaches including Clearwater Beach about 45 minutes away. Closer to home within 10-20 minutes are picturesque unspoiled beaches at Green Key and Anclote. Hudson Beach is nearest and is ideal for small children with play/picnic areas and barbecues.
A must for visitors is the 20 minute drive to Tarpon Springs, the quaint sponge fishing village, where everything is Greek and tavernas and interesting souvenir shops abound. A little further south at St. Pete's is the superb Salvador Dali Museum (largest outside Spain) and the Hands On Museum (a favourite with children).
Both Busch Gardens and Adventure Island (a water theme park) are on the north side of Tampa only 45 minutes drive from the bungalow. Also well worth a visit is Ybor City in the old part of Tampa , where the original cigar making factories have been converted into a huge tourist attraction with boutique shops and restaurants and for shopping bargains the Ellenton Factory Outlet Mall is just over an hour's drive to the south.
Within easy reach to the north is Weeki Wachi with its manatees and mermaid show and further on the delights of Homossassa Springs and Silver Springs
Port Richey is a typical small American town that has seen rapid growth in recent years attracting the large Gulf View Shopping Mall with 4 major Department Stores and the very popular TJ Max plus Best Buy(electronics) and other mammoth stores such as a Super Walmart, Bed Bath &Beyond and The Sports Authority. There are also literally 100's of restaurants to choose from of virtually every description and especially popular is a meal or sundowner at Sam's on Hudson Beach to watch the magnificent sunsets.
The Lakes of Regency Park consists of bungalows interspersed with a number of small natural lakes. The area is ideally situated as it is surrounded by excellent golf club, nature parks and nature trails such as the impressive J B Starkey Wilderness Park. These are both for walking and cycling.
The area also caters for off shore and deep sea fishing and all other types of water sports.

"Home from home"
An easy journey from Tampa airport. The property was homely with lots of clean, fresh linen and towels. We enjoyed the large open-plan kitchen and lounge. The kitchen was especially well equipped for dining in. It had two large spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space. We found lots to do in the area, Tarpon Springs and Dunedin, well worth a visit and the tram ride to Clearwater Beach is a must!. We look forward to returning. We found Angela and Lee to be very caring hosts.

"Sometimes it is what is not said that is the most important."
I have been coming to the USA for over 40 years and this is the first time I have been disappointed. I booked to rent this house for four weeks after reading the description, viewing on site photos, a… More
This guest's prime complaint and biggest worry was the lack of a view from the pool so it is surprising that he did not check this before making a booking. We always encourage enquirers to ask questions both on the telephone and by email and give full and honest answers.
It is also strange that despite this apparent unhappiness, not once did he voice any dissatisfaction during the frequent and pleasant contact with him during the first 10 days of his stay.
Regarding the state of the gardens in the area, it is true that the lawns look parched. This is an unfortunate fact of life in this part of Florida, which has suffered from many years lack of rainfall and resultant draconian watering restrictions.
We are not sure how he could know the solar heating was switched off in April when he did not arrive until the 30th May. Actually, this was done in May when the shade temperatures were consistently well over 90 degrees and averted the real danger of the pool stagnating thus preventing swimming - a wise decision appreciated by our guests at that time. In any event they can request it be turned on or off at any time according to weather conditions.
We are puzzled by the other comments and will not elaborate but only say that our guests immediately before and after were full of praise and one of them has immediately booked for next year.
We always receive very complimentary reports and many returning guests –can they all be wrong?

"Homely, comfortable, very well equipped property"
Southern Comfort was all and more than we could imagine. From the moment we pulled up and walked into the house, huge lounge with big comfy sofa and chair. Large kitchen and breakfast bar and yet another sofa and comfy rocking chair I could not get my other half off. When we were in this was our chill zone. There were two large dining tables we didn't even use. Our master bedroom with patio doors out to pool was magnificent, there are also two other patio doors leading to the pool. En-suite bathroom with wrap around mirrors the length of the walls, you can walk in one end and out the other. Another lovely cool bedroom on the front, again not needed. Great air con system and pool area. Super clean through out, every conceivable piece of equipment you could wish for in the kitchen and lots of chairs and cushions for the pool.
You can walk 5 minutes to a great supermarket Applebees, also McDonald's, a nice coffee shop, bank and pizza place. Drive for 5 minutes and your choice is never ending.
Great place to stay, so sad to leave. It was our HOME for 2 weeks, did not want to give the keys back! Enjoy............

"Great to have ever thing there"
Having stayed at other houses in the area we found Southern Comfort great. Clean, tidy had every thing you need for a holiday. As we where there as Hurrican Debby came and as this closed the beaches, roads for a week found having a good large well maintaned pool excelled. There are pleanty of good shops, restaurants around especially the steak house. We found a good little breakfast cafe by Sweet bays supermarket, good food at a very good price , not worth cooking breakfast. If we visit again will look at coming back to the house.and just a bonus managed to watch England play football and watch the tennis as well Great holiday at a great house .
Thanks Angela and Lee

We felt instantly comfortable in this well furnished villa. It is convenient for exploring the Tampa Bay area or just for sunning by the pool. All facilities are available in the house and the sheltered patio ensures that the pool is free of both bugs and leaves. The weekly cleaning also ensures that the pool is always clean and inviting. The housekeeping is of the highest order and the desire of the owners to ensure your comfort is evident.
We really enjoyed our stay and could recommend this villa for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.
