Located only 100 metres from miles of beautiful sandy beach, the ground floor apartment is a perfect base for a young family seeking a sunshine beach holiday. A communal pool is available during high season. The picturesque marina area is an easy stroll and offers all amenities and many restaurants, bars and shops. The larger resorts of Canet and Argeles are a short driving distance. The area offers easy access to the Fitou and Corbieres wine regions and the Pyrenees are an hour's drive. There is plenty to see and do during your stay. Port Leucate also has an Aqualand Water Fun Park. Beach amenities available at Port Leucate in peak season.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Aude region

Port Leucate is in the region of Languedoc-Rousillon in the department of Aude. It borders on the Pyrenees-Orientales region. The area is well known for its wine and there are many vineyards and caves for wine tasting. The Aude region has much history to explore including the mountain-top cathar castles and the mediaeval walled city of Carcassonne. It takes about 40 mins to drive into Spain and approx 2 hours to get to Barcelona. The Pyrenees mountains can be reached by car in less than an hour's drive. The area boasts fantastic family friendly beaches along the Mediterranean coast and numerous venues for fabulous days out.

The Port Leucate area

Port Leucate is a small port in South West France, with the Mediterranean Sea on one side and a lake ( Etang) with mountains in the background on the other.
It is a lively holiday resort during the summer months and throughout the year offers an ideal base to explore and discover the surrounding region or enjoy the beach and resort.
Port Leucate has a picturesque centre with a marina (boat hire available
locally) and there are many bars, restaurants and shops open in high season.
There are supermarkets and a petrol station. The sandy beach stretches for miles. The area is best known for wind surfing on the Leucate Etang.

Ryanair fly to Perpignan, Carcassone and Girona airports.

Hi Thomas
Firstly, I would like to say how wonderfuf Port Leucate was, your apartment could not be better situated .Both my wife and I really loved it and the kids had a great time. You should mention in your advert something about the paddling pool on the way to the beach my kids loved it (as did many other kids) and the grass area at the rear of the apartment where my kids played with the kids from the next apartment. Dave and Sue were brilliant when the fridge went belly up.I'm afraid we broke a couple of glasses and we honestly forgot to get replacements ( but we did leave you a coffee pot) If you would like me to be a reference on any website i will be very happy to do so.Once again thank you the holiday was fantastic.
