The West Country / Cornwall region
Port Issac has been an attractive fishing village since the early fourteenth century. Its narrow, winding streets with old white washed cottages and traditional granite and slate fronted cottages. It was the location for the popular television series Poldark.
From the middle ages Port Issac was a busy port handling various imports and exports but after the advent of steam engines Port Isaac reverted to a the primary role of a fishing port.

Both Port Isaac and nearby Port Gaverne are situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are also part of the Heritage Coast.
