"Everything we dreamed of"
Every Cottage is the most lovely place to be. It is very quite (I couldn't remember the last time I heard an owl) and with the attached garden and the ping pong table in the barn it is great for children. We enjoyed the most warm and attentive welcome with cream teas waiting, coffee, wine and everything you need for breakfast the next morning. As everything was clean and cosy and linens and towles were provided, our holiday started the minute we walked in.
The free WiFi came in handy, we mostly needed it to plan the next trip to another historic estate or garden. Every Cottage is located excellent to visit lots of places in Cornwall and Devon. Of course there is no need to drive far away: there are lovely villages (Port Isaac, Wadebridge...) and great beaches nearby. Also important: there is ample parking space right in front of the house.
If you are too exhausted to cook after a fine day out: the St. Kew Inn, the local pub with excellent food, most amiable service and spacious garden, is just across the street and really worth a visit.
And in case you were wondering ... we already booked for next year, of course!

"Good base for exploring the coast. Generally well equipped."
Could be improved by having a proper oven and separate microwave rather than just a combination oven. Washing machine would have been icing on the cake. Outside tap would be a good investment to rinse… More

"Lovely cottage in a beautiful, quiet location"
Everything was wonderful. We had a cream tea waiting on arrival, along with wine, homemade preserve and some local produce, which I thought a lovely touch. The cottage itself was pretty both outside and in; clean, modern, comfortable, and importantly for us, very child friendly.
Kew is a beautiful little hamlet, near to all the local holiday spots (padstow, polzeath, port isaac etc.), and the cottage is a stone's throw from one of the best pubs in Cornwall, in my opinion.
There was also table tennis available in one of the sheds, which the kids greatly enjoyed.
The cottage has a large drive, so parking, and unloading was no problem, a real asset in the busy season. Kew has nothing in the way of shops, but either Wadebridge or Port Isaac are only 10 minutes drive away.
I would recommend this cottage in particular to those who want to stay somewhere near to North Cornwall's attractions, but want to avoid the tourist stampede during the peak seasons.
The only thing to be aware of is that Kew is a dead spot for mobile signal, at least on our carrier (EE). The cottage has a good internet connection however, so this wasn't much of an issue for us.
