The West Country region
St Teath is a traditional and charming cornish village of old slate cottages. It is centred on Clocktower Square where there is a unique and large Clocktower War Memorial in the middle of the square. Pop into the 17th century White Hart Inn (recommended by the Real Ale and Good Food Guide- children welcome, children's menu). A family pub, the Inn has an indoor restaurant and also an outdoor seating area where you can bring a dog. The old village church has a painted Jacobean alms box and inside the building are many painted 17th cent wooden items and an impressive Celtic Cross in the graveyard. Lots of footpath walks leading from the village. Popular Polzeath beach is approx. 10 miles, the good sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand and Port Isaac (Doc Martin TV series country) both about 5 miles.
A little further north are Widemouth and Bude , in a soutwards direction Wadebridge and Padstow.
