During daylight hours the drive is stunning and one of the best there is!!! Please ask me if you need any further details.
The Queensland region
Far north Queensland is known as Tropical North Queensland. Beautiful, lush and sunny. Rolling sugar cane fields and rainforest tucked into the narrow coastal strip between the magical Coral sea and the Great Dividing Range.
Filled with an array of Flora and Fauna, this is one of the most colourful and vibrant natural areas of Australia. Hot and steamy in the Summer months, absolutely beautiful in the winter months. As a famous Queensland saying goes "Beautiful one day, perfect the next!!"
The biggest attraction in the area is the Great Barrier Reef. You are spoiled for choice, for boats and helicopter rides to see this "wonder of the world". A day-trip to Cairns to ride on the sky rail to the Village of Kuranda and back down by train. Day long walks and birdwatching on the Atherton tablelands. Daintree Village and Cape Tribulation, Canopy surfing or Kite surfing on Fourmile Beach. Evenings out to dinner and theatre at the Karnak playhouse and local Klink theatre.
Art Galleries featuring local and Indigenous art. Food and wine experiences. Adventure/Extreme holiday experiences, Ultralite, bike riding, Hot air balloons, scuba diving. Lots of high quality Day spa experiences. Just taking a walk along Fourmile Beach at sunrise or sunset is a highlight. Feeding the Gropers in the afternoons at "On the inlet Restaurant" while having an afternoon drink. Sunset sailing off the point. These will be a few of your favourite things to do on your holiday...

Das Appartement liegt an einer ziemlich lauten Durchgangsstrasse und ich bin früh morgens aufgewacht, weil ich den Eindruck hatte, die Autos fahren durch mein Bett. Die Lage zwischen zwei Parkplätze… More
I am very sorry that you have obviously booked the wrong apartment for your needs. You are the first to have such impressions. I am very happy that you managed to successfully find somewhere more suitable to your tastes, elsewhere. You are being a little mischievous and misleading in your review... in your description of the outside area, and... in my opinion, overstating the "Traffic" in this small quiet tourist village. I will leave that to my future guests to judge for themselves, as my previous guests and reviewers have done. I wish you happy travels in the future, if that is at all possible.

"Awesome location and time in PD"
My friend and i stayed here for 7 nights and it was the best decision! The appt is situated in a quiet block 5mins walk to the beach or main shops, so a great location, with a car port too.
Julie the owner was very helpful and welcoming, and it felt like a home away from home. the only downside was the lounge area is not made for slouching down in as they are wicker seats. But really that was so minor as we spent nearly all our time out.
The bathroom was clean with plenty of space.

My husband and I and my sister stayed there for 7 nights. We loved it there. Two bedrooms. Julie, our host made us feel welcome. Lots of food in the fridge, The apartment was only 2 mins walk to the beach and town centre. Quiet place, with lots of privacy. Will definitely stay there again. And oh, it was great value too.

"Excellent value for money"
Castaways is a great little 2 bedroom unit in a block of only 8 right in the central district of Port Douglas. All the attractions Port Douglas has to offer - 4 Mile Beach, shops, restaurants, marina and Sunday market - are all only a 5-10 minute walk away. Great for a couple wishing to holiday without young children and at a very affordable price. All the amenities listed were there and worked, including wifi. Julie, the owner ensures that this unit is clean and well presented and even includes some extra surprises for you in the fridge for when you arrive.

"Close to everything"
Had a great stay here with my younger son. Julie was such a good host she provided all the things you need while away. Scented candles , fresh milk in the fridge, oil in the cupboard. It is the small things that help while you are away. Didn't need to hire a car as it is close to the beach, restaurants and the shops. Quite a comfy place. Well stocked kitchen. It helped to have the internet at home so I could check my emails. Good value.
