The Pelican is located adjacent to the famous Blue Lagoon near Port Antonio, on Jamaica's picturesque north shore.
The Jamaican Pelican Resort offers a formal interior dining room plus an outer patio dining area overlooking the ocean. There is a spacious living room with French doors to an ocean view. Three large bedrooms accommodate up to six guests (1 King size bed, 1 Queen size bed, twin bedroom). Two en suite bathrooms and one half-bath provide for your comfort. A multi-level patio/lounge with BBQ also provides ocean access to safe, clean swimming with a sand bottom.
There are many nearby attractions which can add variety to your visit. The Blue Lagoon is within walking or snorkelling distance. Dragon Bay and the famous 'Cruise Bar' popularized in the movie "Cocktail" are just a few minutes away. Excursions farther afield can be arranged. A trip into the rainforest to visit Reach Falls makes for a terrific afternoon. River rafting on the Rio Grande is a relaxing experience while horseback riding along the beach can be a thrill.

The North Jamaica Coast region
The Northern coast of Jamaica is a rural area and is famous for its great beaches and its beautiful scenery. One of the popular sites of the North Jamaican coast is the Blue Lagoon, which is easily accessible from the property.
The area is a leading producer of coffee, bananas, coconuts and mangoes. Eco-tourism is fast developing in the area.
The many sites to visit and the numerous activities available make it an ideal holiday destination. There are several beaches in the area for family picnics. San San Beach is within walking distance. Many other scenic Beaches are nearby including the fabulous beach at Frenchman's Cove, once the vacation playground of actor Errol Flynn.
Port Antonio area
The Pelican is located adjacent to the famous Blue Lagoon near Port Antonio, on Jamaica's picturesque north shore. Situated in one of Jamaica's most scenic areas, the Pelican has been the site of several famous movies filmed nearby or actually at the villa including: ~ Club Paradise , starring Robin Williams (1985) ~ Linda Evans TV Special (1987) ~ Cocktail , starring Tom Cruise (1988)
The activities available nearby include: deep sea fishing, free diving, jet skiing, kayaking, para sailing, sailing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water skiing, windsurfing and most watersports. Cruises can also be arranged.
Some fascinating and unique adventures can be experienced and excursions such as rain forest hiking and bamboo rafting in the Rio Grande Valley are very popular. Guests can also visit caves and secluded lagoons, visit hidden waterfalls or visit the coffee plantation sites.

Further details indoors: The living room is beautifully appointed with rattan furniture and colourful fabrics. Original Jamaican art by local artists complements the decor. French doors open onto the west patio and front walkway, providing a lovely view of the shimmering sea and offshore reef. Fresh sea breezes keep you cool and refreshed.
The three bedrooms (one king, one queen and one twin) are well-equipped and tastefully appointed in soft pastels. Windows and ceiling fans take advantage of the cool sea breeze at night or if you prefer, air condition is just a press of a button. There are large closets and ample drawer space in each room.
Further details outdoors: The Pelican has several areas to sit back and relax. At the west of the Villa, a multi-level patio/lounge with BBQ provides ocean access to safe, clean swimming with a sand bottom. A quiet area at the west corner is best for cocktails at sunset. On the east end there is a large deck, adjacent to the sea, with lounge chairs, a gazebo and a small boat for exploring the waters inside the reef. Be sure to try the three comfortable lounges on the dining deck.
The outdoor dining area overhangs the water with a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and the northern coastline of Jamaica. It is brightly lit by the morning sun, provides a focal point for the villa, and can host beautiful candlelight dinners on a balmy evening.
Guests can dine indoors or out. The open air dining room is freshened by the sea breeze. French doors open into an elegant dining space with a large glass-topped table and comfortable rattan chairs. Both are easily accessible from the kitchen to provide for your dining pleasure. Local fishermen visit daily to offer their fresh catch of Lobster, Crab and Red Snapper.
Moving about the Pelican Resort is made easy by the perimetre walkways. You can travel from the east gazebo to the west patio without ever having to go inside!

Our staff pride themselves on their efficient and pleasant service, and look forward to making your stay as comfortable as possible. Our cook prepares Jamaican cuisine including the famous "jerk chicken" and "jerk pork" among her many specialities. A cool rum punch on the patio is welcome at any time of day and a wide variety of luscious tropical fruit is always available.
