About the home

Villa Funtana is situated in a small fishing village along the coast from Porec to Vrsar, on the West Coast of Istria. Small fisherman village with preserved nature and Clear water beaches is a place just right for peaceful or active holidays because of so many different sport sites in neighborhood. Although small, with all kind of tourist resorts restaurants, cafes, bars etc. As well as stores, supermarkets, souvenirs and other shops, post office, ATM machines, banks are at your service and for your convenience. But one thing you shouldn't miss is its picturesque surroundings. Old vineyards, olives growing and beautiful wooded area going all the way to the sea

Villa Funtana is surrounded by a Mediterranean yard, private Parking space, and the distance to the beach is just 300-400m!

In the case that you prefer active vacation, in a radius of about 1-3km from Villa Funtana, there are MTB paths, bike, motor-boat and sailing boat rentals, ski-lift, scuba diving centers, tennis and horse riding centers. Tourist ships, daily, provide trips to Lim fjord, Rovigno and to the Islands of Brioni!

The Istria region

Funtana, situated on the West Coast of Istria, between Porec and Vrsar, last few years has been discovered as a prime tourist destination. Funtana is interconnected with a net of roads with Porec and Vrsar riviera, in addition it has a very good road connection with Istria inland, like little cities of Buje, Vodnjan, Motovun and as well with Slovenia (Koper) and Italy (Trieste).

Thanks to its geographical characteristic and a small fisherman harbor well protected from winds and rough seas, and beautiful rocky beach with crystal clear water, as well as its woods and vineyard surroundings, Funtana gives an opportunity for pleasant and peaceful vacation.

“Lovely quiet location with lots to explore” The villa is in a lovely residential part of Funtana, allowing a quiet place to relax within walking distance of a local fish/fruit market, shops and beaches. With seperate access to all the apartments you feel like you are staying in your own private villa. The owner is incredibly helpful, giving you the local knowledge of the best places to pick up fish and meat for the bbq. It is in a great location to explore the whole of Istria, from Premantura to Rabac to Umag.

“A lovely holiday hideaway in a charming village” The accommodation was really easy to book & the owner was extremely helpful before and during our stay. Villa Funtana is nestled in a residential area but is private with its own enclosed garden, which was great as we went with our two dogs. The owner, who lives in a separate section of the villa, was exceptionally helpful, and gave us great hints on where to go for walks, eat etc. It was a great bonus for us that he , having lived in USA, spoke perfect English, and was at hand whenever we needed any help. The near by walks were beautiful and we enjoyed them greatly each day. Although we went off-season, restaurants were open, so we could enjoy relaxed meals in the evenings. We all really enjoyed our stay at Villa Funtana, the accommodation was comfortable and the owner made us feel really welcome, the village was lovely and the local people very kind, friendly and helpful. We would most certainly return. Its great for a quiet get away.
