About the home

Casa Grande, has just been refurbished for 2009, with 6 bedrooms, 6 En-Suite bathrooms, Air-conditioning and is situated less than 1km from Porches & only 5 minutes to Carvoeiro.

Its surrounded by vineyards, boasting fantastic views of the Monchique Mountains and surrounding countryside. Just 5 minutes from the beach, 10 minutes from a choice of golf courses, 30 minutes from Faro International Airport a perfect location for any family. One beach worth mentioning is the Paria Da Marinha; this beach was considered as one of the most beautiful beaches and has earned a name for itself as one of the best preserved beaches of the world and only 5 minutes drive.
This villa has been adapted for Level 3 mobility access.

This beautiful villa is set in lovely grounds surrounded by a well established garden, traditional calçada driveway, automatic gates and parking, and a private gravelled entrance.

This converted farmhouse has classic traditional proportions, 6 double bedrooms and 6 en-suite bathrooms, Large fully equipped kitchen, Living room, dining room, guest toilet, separate laundry room, garage & Games room with Table tennis (ping pong),BBQ Area is amazing, for outside eating with a full size dining table.

The front entrance doors lead into the open plan hallway and "chill out" area, opens to large living room area, wood burning stove set in a handsome fireplace in the middle and a more intimate area on the right with a large arched picture window. Through to the large kitchen kitchen, very modern and fully equipped.

The kitchen,is fully fitted with built in appliances, lots of storage space. The kitchen has a back door for easy access to the laundry room, and the outside covered barbecue area.
One downstairs bedroom, has level 3 mobility access, larger doorways, walk in shower wet room and facilities for wheelchair storage and carer facilities.

The hallway is open plan and stairs leading to the first floor and bedrooms.

All the bedrooms are fully air-conditioned, speakers piped for central music system and I pod docking, all with en-suite bathrooms.

The Outside BBQ Area has a full size dining table and chairs for 12 Adults. The pool has a gated fence to make this villa very child friendly. Large pool heated (optional) opens out into the lawn and landscaped gardens.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve is the name of the southern coast of Portugal, incorporating, amongst others, the towns of Faro, Lagos, and Sagres. The region's administrative centre is the town of Faro, which has its own international airport.

The Algarve is a popular destination for tourism, primarily because of its clean, warm water beaches, Mediterranean climate, safety and relatively low costs. The length of the south-facing coastline is approximately 155 kilometres. Beyond the westernmost point of Cape St Vincent it stretches a further 50 kilometres to the north.

The coastline is notable for picturesque limestone caves and grottoes, particularly around Lagos, which are accessible by powerboat. Praia da Marinha, Lagoa was classified as one of the 100 most beautiful and well preserved beaches of the world. There are many other beautiful and famous summer places such as Albufeira, Vilamoura, Portimão, Lagos, Armação de Pêra, Quarteira, Monte Gordo and Tavira.

The Porches area

Carvoeiro is a fishing village halfway along the Algarve coast, about 45 minutes from Faro Airport. Over the last 15 years, grown to be a sizeable holiday resort. However, it has not lost the intrinsic charm of the place, as the development has been sympathetically done, keeping to low-rise buildings in the traditional Algarvian style.

This cosmopolitan resort has a wide selection of restaurants and bars, a few night clubs, boutiques, banks, chemist and local facilities.

Porches, there are busy restaurant and shops and only 1.5 km drive. Zoo marine is also only 6 km for the villa, this is a must to swim with the dolphins!

Absolutely superb villa – more than could ask for. Excellent service from both Howard & Victoria. Weather superb so didn’t venture far – however can recommend Carvoeiro* beach, 20€ 2 beds + shade & Aqualand water park. Beer kegs were great idea – 1 euro a pint! We should know – did 3 in a week plus Cristal!! Would def come back. Thank you.

What a great week – excellent weather & suberb facilities. Highlights were :
- Rui seafood restaurante in Silves
- Marinha beach
- The 4 kegs of beer
- Suckling pig
- Aqualand water park
- Reid as Praias beach resaurante at Ferugudo
We can also recommend the taxi services of Raimundo (+351 969526093) & Richard (-351 965400510) who both speak good English and if you tell them that you are at “Casa Grande” near the international school, they will know where you mean! Thankyou, we had a great time & we will be back!!

A 50th birthday to end all parties, big thanks to all who made it happen. Mon. Piri piri – Ramires, Tues. the beach at Reid as Praias, Wed. Vila Joya, Thursday, boat trip and pig in (a must at the house). The venue was perfect, the house everything you could wish for, tested to it’s party limits, which Casa Grande fulfilled beyond my wildest dreams. Thanks to everyone and no doubt we will be back for a similar outing. Hope whoever is next enjoys it as much as we have!!
