Built in 2005, this relatively new Villa has been impeccably decorated and furnished. Each Double Bedroom has its own colour scheme with coordinating soft furnishings and all the Bathrooms are beautifully fitted. The architecture is very attractive with an impressive entrance hall. The modern kitchen is very well equipped with an enormous fridge freezer - separate Fridge for Drinks and a built in cooker. The sitting room is well furnished with a plush, very comfortable sofas, a lovely dining suite and a wood burning stove.
The 'Villa Grande' is on a large plot of land and is close to the village of Porches and Armação de Pêra with good Restaurants and a long sandy beach. It is also a short drive from the lively resort of Praia do Carvoeiro where you will wish to visit many times.

All towels (including Pool Towels) and bed linen are provided with a maid service for each week day (around mid-day) for two hours each day.

"Villa Grande" is modern - detached and in an area which is popular among permanent residents. It is conveniently close to the coastal areas of Armação de Pêra and Carvoeiro which are at a distance of approximately 2 kms AND 4km respectively - The Villa has a Built Area of over 7,500 square feet on a Land Plot of more than 80,000 square feet - That's Big!
The Villa has two mobile Webber BBQ's with all the necessary BBQ equipment. The advantage of the Webber BBQ's are that you can have a BBQ anywhere you wish. Outside dining facilities are located on the Villa Terrace.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Porches area

GOLF
Portugal, and in particular, the Algarve, is renowned for its magnificent Golf Courses which is why it is considered a golfer's paradise. There are many courses within easy reach of Vila Marianna such as The Pinta and The Gramacho courses at neighbouring Carvoeiro. There's also the championship course of Penina just a ten minute drive away. Keen golfers' find that the location of this Villa ideal to combine both a beach and golfing holiday and it also works well for partners and families who do not participate in the sport.

DRIVING
In Portugal, the cars drive on the right hand side of the road, with vehicles entering from the right having priority. All EU driving licences are valid in the Algarve, but they should preferably be accompanied by an International Driving Permit. You will also need to carry with you your identity card or passport, your insurance certificate, and vehicle log book and proof of ownership.
To hire a car in Portugal, you will need a valid driving license with you. You can also hire a car before you arrive.
Safety belts are compulsory for all passengers, whilst motorcyclists must always wear a helmet. There are laws against the use of mobile phones while driving, unless you are using hands-free equipment.
Drinking and Driving is against the law! The blood-alcohol limit is 0.5gm/l, which is lower than in the UK.
It is easy enough to fill up with petrol if you are on the main roads with 24-hour service stations in the main urban areas, as well as on motorways and other main roads. Petrol stations are less frequent in other inland regions and they have variable opening times.
The speed limit for passenger vehicles without trailers and motorcycles is 50kmh/31mph in built up areas, 90kmh/55mph on main roads, 100kmh/62mph on clearways, and 120kmh/75mph on motorways.
Traffic signs comply with international conventions and standards.

We did have an issue with the electricity and the water on Friday, but your Local Villa Manager sent around a maintenance company who sorted it out in no time at all. Thanks again and we will definitely be recommending the Villa to anyone going to Portugal!
