About the home

This modern, Air Conditioned, bright villa benefits from extensive views being set in a large elevated plot with lawned and well stocked gardens. The terraces have abundant Mediterranean flowers to enhance your enjoyment in this peaceful environment. The villa has an attractive large open plan lounge/dining area with multiple patio doors leading onto the dining terrace with BBQ. This terrace has a full size electric awning to provide shade in the heat of the day. The beautiful, recently refurbished pool(heated) and pool terrace has sunloungers and parasols for 10 people.

Bars and restaurants are within walking distance and supermarkets and beaches are only a short drive away. The towns of Porches, Lagoa and Carvoeiro are nearby and it is a delight to wander through their attractive streets and try local specialities in the numerous cafes and restaurants. Tennis is available within walking distance and numerous golf courses are to be found a short drive away.

The villa is in immaculate condition throughout and has a bright Mediterranean theme. There is a large open plan lounge/dining area with several patio doors to the dining terrace which is raised up from the pool terrace below. A large flat screen TV has freeview satellite channels and there is a DVD player on another TV in an adjoining area.

Further details outdoors:
The villa is accessed via a sliding gate onto a cobbled driveway leading to large parking areas both at the front and down outside the garage. Extensive lawned areas surround the property which benefits from a number of mature palm trees and well stocked borders. There is a beautiful, recently renovated 10m x 5m heated pool which is maintained twice a week and this has a terrace surrounding it with sunloungers and parasols for 10 people. A BBQ is provided for al-fresco dining.

A deposit of £300 is required when booking with the balance, plus a refundable security deposit of £300 due 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve enjoys a fantastic climate with summers cooled by Atlantic breezes and never a frost even in the middle of the winter which is always mercifully short. July to mid September is the high season but warm weather continues late into autumn which is agreat time to visit. Or visit in the spring which arrives in February/March to see wonderful displays of almond blossom and bright yellow mimosa. By March the orange blossom starts to fill the air with its fragrant aroma and wild flowers are everywhere from then on.

Fantastic golden beaches are a highlight amongst the many attractions the Algarve has to offer and local to the villa is Marinha beach which is often described as the most beautiful beach on the Algarve. Several long beaches are closeby for those that enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach before enjoying a delicious lunch of local seafood washed down with reasonably priced Portuguese wines such as Vinho Verde which is very light and refreshing.

The mountains of Monchique provide a vivid contrast to the flat coastal plain and they also provide a welcome barrier to the cold weather from the north which then provides ideal conditions for the growing of citrus fruits and of course grapes from which the local wines are produced.

There are several waterparks for kids to enjoy as well as Zoomarine which is a great day out for the whole family.

The Porches area

Vale d'el Rei hotel is a short walk away from the villa and has a bar, restaurant and spa open to non residents. Porches and Lagoa are 5 minutes drive away and provide many restaurants and local craft outlets. A choice of 2 supermarkets are 10 minutes away as is the resort town of Carvoeiro with its varied selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Portimao and Albufeira are a 20 minute drive from the villa and are the larger towns in the area. There are 2 water parks within 10 minutes drive. Algarve Shopping at Guia is a large retail centre and is only 15 minutes drive away and has over 100 shops majoring on fashion and lifestyle.

Monchique mountains are worth a visit being only some 30 minutes drive away and as well as being very picturesque give a different feel to the coastal areas with numerous small restaurants serving local specialities such as Black Pig and 'Feijoada', a thick bean stew with pork, bacon and sausage.

The villa manual contains details of many activities and places to visit should you wish to venture out from the villa and explore the Algarve. For example, Cliff Richard's vineyard, Adega do Cantor or Winery of the Singer is situated at Guia and provides interesting tours of the vineyard and production facility.
