A short stroll from arguably 2 of the Algarves most beautiful beaches.
The modern luxury apartment is situated in an enviable corner position on the edge of the small development, with all day sunshine on the two south facing furnished balconies (one off the living room and one off the bedroom) which boast some of the best panoramic views from the development of both the sea and countryside.
Situated in a quiet village location but 3 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk from Armacao de Pera and 15 minutes drive from the popular resorts of Albufeira, Portimao, Alvor and Carvoeiro. An excellent selection of restaurants, two supermarkets and local shops all within walking distance.

The spacious lounge/dining room has two leather settees (one of which opens into a comfortable double bed), coffee table, lamp tables, dining table and chairs, sideboard, satellite flat screen 32 inch TV, DVD, CD/radio. Large french doors open out onto balcony.
The bedroom has comfortable twin beds, bedside cabinet, large fitted wardrobes and French doors leading onto a 2nd furnished balcony with stunning sea and countryside views. Air conditioning/heating.
The separate well equipped modern designer kitchen has granite worktops and stainless steel appliances - large fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob, kettle, toaster, iron/ironing board etc.
Modern fully tiled bathroom with bath with shower over, WC, bidet and washhand basin with vanity unit and large mirror. New for 2012, heated chrome towel radiator in the bathroom!

The apartment benefits from two furnished balconies with sea and countryside views. The development has three swimming pools (one a childrens pool) and tennis courts, all exclusively for the use of guests. The apartments are set in spacious landscaped grounds.
All bedding and towels are provided (except beach/pool towels). The apartment is cleaned and linen changed weekly. If mid week cleans/changes are required these can be arranged for an extra charge.
There is hot/cold air conditioning, for which there is no additional charge.
Children welcome. We regret we cannot accept pets. Smoking is not permitted inside the apartment. Flat screen satellite TV with Sky English channels and 4 Portuguese channels. Wide selection of over 200 DVD films plus music CDs.
£150 breakage deposit payable with final balance - returned in full providing no damage has occurred. Guests are welcome to arrive/depart at any time to suit their travel arrangements, UNLESS other guests arrive/depart the same day - when departure MAY be required by 10am and arrival after 4pm to enable the apartment to be cleaned and prepared for next guests.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve is the southernmost region of mainland Portugal. Its highest point is the mountain range of Monchique, with a maximum altitude of 906m (Peak of the Fóia). The region is also the home of the Ria Formosa lagoon, a nature reserve of over 170 square kilometres and a stopping place for hundreds of different birds.
Think of the Algarve and you think of sunshine breaks and relaxing holidays, golden sands and crystal clear waters, clear blue skies, and the white-washed walls of the buildings in the Algarve's old towns. The coastline includes some of the world's most beautiful beaches, but by venturing just a few miles inland, you can lose yourself in the heritage and history of the Algarve.
The Algarve is also home to some of the world's most famous golf courses, where players of all ability are welcome.
The Algarve's cuisine is based on fresh local produce – fish, seafood, fruit and vegetables, pork and chicken (chicken piri piri in "the home of piri piri", the local village of Guia, is a must). Portuguese wines are very good and exceptionally well priced – try the vinho verde (green wine) – light and refreshing on a hot summer's evening.
Climate: All year round, the Algarve enjoys the best climate in Europe. With only a short period of
rainfall and long hours of sunshine (the highest in Europe), the Algarve region is blessed with the perfect weather for tourism. The maximum temperatures in the Algarve vary throughout the year, between 15ºC and 31°C. Therefore tourists from Northern European countries increasingly seek out the Algarve, where they can enjoy long hours of sunshine.
The Porches / Alporchinos area
Porches is located right in the centre of the Algarve coast. Situated in a quiet village location but less than 5 minutes drive or 25 minutes walk from Armacao de Pera and 15 minutes drive from the popular resorts of Albufeira, Portimao, Alvor and Carvoeiro. Porches is famous for its terracotta pottery and is a wonderful Portuguese village with arguably two of the best Blue Flag beaches on the Algarve, which are often frequented by the rich and famous. Close by is a fantastic luxury hotel, which offers five-star facilities including a spa and beauty treatments.
There is a wide choice of restaurants and bars both at the beach and within the village. 15 minutes drive from Algarve Shopping, a large mall with stores, designer fashion boutiques, a hypermarket and food hall, multi-screen cinema, restaurants and bowling alley. An excellent selection of restaurants, two supermarkets and local shops are within walking distance of the apartment. Ideally situated for all the local attractions of the Algarve - its multitude of golf courses, water parks, zoos etc. Aqualand, Slide & Splash and Zoomarine are all within a 10 minute drive.
The apartment is centrally located in the Algarve - ideal for golfing, sightseeing, beaches and relaxation. It is perfectly situated for walkers - being a few minutes walk from stunning cliff top walks that stretch for mile after mile and offer views of the dramatic rock formations, caves and numerous secluded beaches. It is also situated a few hundred yards from the Algarve Coastal Cycle Route, which runs the full length of the Algarve coast from the Spanish Border to Cape St Vincent, the most south westerly point of Europe.

We just returned from Portugal. We spent 8 glorious days at Por do Sol in Porches. The pictures don't do it justice - it is so beautiful. The apartment is very comfortable, so well set up.... more

Our first trip to Portugal, and the first time we've booked an apartment rather than a hotel - we were not disappointed! The apartment is superbly kept and well equipped - with a southerly aspect giving sun on both balconies all day. The development too is tidy, clean and well managed.
The local area is full of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, and all the amenities you need are in walking distance. The beaches are beautiful, the pools are great, but plenty to do and see if you want to explore the area by car too.
Valerie is great to deal with - all in all our experience was fantastic - we'll be back!
