Tranquility is a beautifully appointed south-facing apartment recently completed. The interior design is a wow! It has amazing, stunning panoramic views across the main and most scenic part of Poole Harbour. An ideal height (fourth floor) to make the most of the view.The tranquility offered together with contemporary decor and the views are unequalled. This is a unique and quality apartment.
A short walk to Poole Quay and the many fabulous restaurants and bars. Make sure you book the Guildhall Tavern - Michelin Standard French food at reasonable prices. Severine and Frederic (owners) are so friendly and helpful. Take a boat ride from the Quay around the islands or to Brownsea Island and nature watch or to Swanage. Watch the fishermen land or just sit and have a drink and people watch.
Water sports are popular around the harbour. There is also a whole variety of other tourist attractions.
Sit on Tranquility's south-facing bacony, savour the islands, dine al fresco and enjoy the sunset and tranquility. Photos taken by me and don't do justice.

Go in, kick off your shoes, relax in the fabulous lounge or bedrooms. Watch the water activities in the harbour or a magnificent sunset. There is a quality 42inch TV and a DVD if you want to keep up with your favourite program.

Outside there is a balcony with high quality patio furniture where you can sit and look over the water, dine al fresco or watch the sunset. The sunset photo is taken from the balcony - some of the sunsets are amazing.
For the comfort and convenience of all our guests, the apartment is strictly no-smoking (includes balcony) and no pets.
Welcome Pack on arrival - tea, coffee, sugar, a pint of fresh semi-skimmed milk and fruit or snack bars.
Quality linen, 'best' towels and beach towels included. There is little you need to bring - mainly yourself and clothes!
The West Country region
Dorset's attractions are the mild climate, golden sandy beaches, beautiful coastline and countryside. It's weather is favourable, Dorset having amongst the most sunshine hours per year in the UK.
There are the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle (National Trust), the Swanage Steam Railway, the long sandy beaches of Studland and the fascinating Sandbanks Chain Ferry (single car crossing approx £3) within a short distance. Treat yourself to tea at The Haven Hotel with its consevatory overlooking the entrance to Poole Harbour and the chain ferry.
Spend some time on the beaches of Sandbanks Peninsula, Poole, famous for having some of the most expensive properties in the world. Drop into Jazzy's Cafe (Shore Road) on a Sunday morning and read the papers and people-watch. See the Fireworks Display Summer Thursdays 10pm at Poole Quay.
For those interested in watersports, there is windsurfing tuition available at Whitley Bay, Sandbanks; sailing tuition at Rockley Watersports, Hamworthy, Poole; scuba diving off Swanage and sea fishing trips from Poole Harbour.
Water-skiing, wakeboarding and parasurfing also take place in Poole harbour. Mountain biking is a popular activity in the nearby Purbeck Hills.
Thomas Hardy based his many novels, eg The Mayor of Casterbridge, in Wessex - the Dorset countryside. An interesting read before bedtime!
Poole has 41 miles of cycle network and the various routes cater for all ages and abilities of cyclists.
Brownsea Island, a National Trust property, can be accessed via regular pleasure boat from Poole Quay, where you can also find boats to neighbouring Swanage, Bournemouth and Sandbanks.
Also from Poole Port, regular ferries operate to Jersey, Guernsey and France. Day trips are available.

"Great apartment, apart from few issues"
The apartment is really lovely – great views, well-equipped and very nicely furnished, BUT be aware that Ruth has some rather bizarre “rules”, e.g:
Apartment not ready until 5.00 pm – very late, especially if you've got young children. She will phone if it's ready before, but that means hanging around waiting for a call.
Cream carpet - before booking, she'll ask you to agree to remove your shoes, but later she suggested we bring indoor shoes and slip-on footwear, “because of the cream carpet”. All of this made us feel very uncomfortable, especially as she re-stressed it all again when we arrived.
Cleaning - The booking conditions state visitors must leave the accommodation “as clean as found …..otherwise a cleaning charge will be levied”. Normally the rental charge for holiday accommodation includes cleaning at the end of each let (though obviously most people would clean up anything they spilt or dropped, etc.), but Ruth stressed again on arrival that we must clean it ourselves, so we spent the last few hours of our holiday cleaning – not how we'd chose to end a holiday!
Also, it just doesn't make sense that visitors are required to leave the apartment “as clean as found”, yet it takes up to another 7 hours for Ruth to clean it again herself!
A shame, as apart from these issues, we felt the apartment was very good.
In a residential location, but quiet and only 5-10 mins walk to the Quay.
We are pleased you found the apartment really lovely, well-equipped and to a high specification. This is what we aim to offer our guests. Like you, most of our guests comment on the great views of Poole Harbour and beyond. Thank you for your kind comments.
We had agreed a pre- arranged time to meet. In the event we did offer you early entry from 2 40pm but you were unable to take this up. The apartments are kept in an exceptionally clean condition and we thank all our guests for contributing to this. Our guests generally do appreciate these high standards.

"Comfortable modern apartment in great location"
Light, airy, warm and comfortably furnished apartment. Short walk to Poole town centre or frequent bus service nearby. Lovely views over the yacht club and river with some memorable sunsets.
Excellent choice for those wishing to self cater due to the range and quality of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. Even the kitchen knives were plentiful and sharp! We were able to prepare Christmas lunch as easily as being at home.
We travel extensively and always try to select high quality accommodation. This apartment was amongst the best we have stayed in and represented good value for money.

"A luxury apartment that lived up to all our expectations & more"
This is the first time we have spent a two week holiday in the UK. This apartment caused us to revise our thoughts on air travel & all the hassle.
The apartment was very well kitted out , lovely position with magnificent views over Poole & the marina.Just sit & watch the sea & sailing.
Very well positioned for Poole Quay which is always a hive of activity
Bournemouth beach & shops within easy reach
Sandbanks well worth a walk round if only to see how the other half live !
All in all one of our best holidays ever

We're pleased you found Poole and the surrounding area lovely – we think it is too. We are fortunate to have the fabulous Sandbanks Beach only a short drive away, as stated in the advert. In the three years that we have advertised with Holiday Lettings, neither noise from the car park gate, or elsewhere, nor an uncomfortable mattress have ever been an issue. I raised these points with the guests who subsequently stayed for two weeks. One of them, who is a light sleeper, 'slept like a log' and her husband recommended I should not change the mattress as he found it very comfortable. We will monitor the situation. We welcome feedback and kindly ask that guests contact us immediately if there are any issues so that it is possible to take remedial action, as requested in the booking form. Guests often comment on how the photos don't do the apartment justice, how clean and serene it is – hence the name 'Tranquility'. We have now provided an extra mat.
