The West Country region
Poole harbour is the largest natural harbour in Europe. Poole has held the highly coveted international blue flags for the past 19 years. This indicates the beaches have consistently met high standards of management and cleanliness. Poole has 6 sandy beaches; Sandbanks, Shore Road, Flag Head Chime, Canford Cliffs, Branksome Chime and Branksome Deane Chime, all adjacent to each other along the southern shoreline. Wardens regularly patrol the seafront throughout the year.
Sandbanks beach is naturally beautiful with its golden sands and is designated by the EC as one of the few areas in the country which has achieved the highest standard of cleanliness.
From Llama trekking to kite surfing, from ten pin bowling to the worlds most stunning motor cruisers, there are no excuses for boredom in Poole (www.pooletourism.com).
Poole has 41 miles of cycle network and the various routes cater for all ages and abilities of cyclists. 25 miles of the network are away from traffic. The Poole cycle map is available on www.boroughofpoole.com
Brownsea Island, a National Trust property, can be accessed via regular pleasure boat from Poole Quay, where you can also find boats to neighbouring Swanage, Wantage, Bournemouth and Sandbanks.
Also from Poole Port, regular ferries operate to Jersey, Guernsey and France. Day trips are available.
Beaulieu in the heart of the New Forest is just over 20 miles east of Poole off J2 of the M27.
Annual events on the Quay include:
Summer Breeze on the Quay every Thursday, May to July (music, street entertainment & fireworks, great family fun)
Beach Party every Thursday, August on the Shore Road beach (family fun, live music & BBQ with fireworks)
Dream Machines every Tuesday, April to September (biggest and best motorcycle event in the UK)
Red Hot Fridays, May to August (sports and classic cars)

"It was so lovely we didn't want to leave"
Absolutely stunning flat, Was like home from home, wanted for nothing as it was all there. Fantastic location on top of the quay with lovely views. Lots of bars and restaurants around, I've recommended this flat to my friends and family as it was so lovely, we did not want to leave at the end of our stay

"Ideal for short family break"
The flat fitted our requirements perfectly for a short break to attend a wedding locally and catch up with family. Flat was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Very central location in Poole with parking space for the flat made travel easy.

We had a brilliant holiday in Poole Quay. The apartment was very well located with direct access to the town and right on the quay which kept the children entertained watching the boats. The amenities were everything we needed - good shower, dish washer, washing machine and a good TV which was important as we were there for the first week of the Olympics! Beds comfortable and everything clean and tidy.
Loads to do with young children in the area - our highlights were Junior Go Ape at Moors Valley, Poole Sea Safari, RNLI College Discovery Tour, beach at SandBanks, Corfe Castle and a meal out at a local Italian (Da Vincis I think) that had great food and very friendly to the kids.
Dawn was really helpful in arranging the week. All round great holiday.

"A holiday on the harbour side Poole"
Stayed here for a week June 2012, apartment is on the harbour side with views over to brownsea island and close to shops and restaurants.
The apartment was fully equipped and very comfortable with everything you'd need for a self-catering holiday. This apartment was clean and very well kept, and was exactly as depicted on the web site. After a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday we will be looking to return soon.

"home from home"
A beautiful flat with views across the harbour, while handy for transport, bus stop outside entrance door. On quay front. Everything you could require left in flat for use, a real home from home feeling about place, not just another holiday flat. This is the second visit and will not be the last.
