This is a spacious manor house in the much sought-after location of Branksome Park, which is positioned neatly between Bournemouth and Poole and walking distance to Branksome Chines golden beaches. This grand holiday accommodation offers extensive bedrooms, quintessential living accommodation and is ideal for families sharing a coastal holiday. Furnished to a good standard with a very wide range of equipment this property is extremely accommodating. The Chine walk to Branksome beach is within walking distance of the property, once on the golden shore there are many traditional seaside activities to chose from lining the shore to Bournemouth Pier. Branksome has a superb safe, sandy beach, a popular restaurant right next to the beach and the famous beach huts. A peaceful stroll through the woodlands of the Chine is always very pleasant. Branksome Chine offers a more peaceful holiday environment than the central parts of either Bournemouth or Poole, as you would expect, but it is not far from the action. Branksome beach offers spectacular views of the Grand Prix powerboat races in Poole Bay. The walk along the Promenade underneath the cliffs or along the beach to Bournemouth Pier is very pleasant. In the opposite direction you can walk towards Sandbanks where there is the passenger ferry to Studland and Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck. The land train runs along the Promenade to Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier beyond and makes light work of the return trip of your walk. The opportunity to stay in this wonderful coastal retreat should not be missed.

The West Country region

Dorset is a very popular holiday destination all year round. It offers beautiful rolling countryside, dramatic scenery, charming market towns, character villages and miles of some of the finest sandy beaches in the UK.

Bournemouth lies to the east of the country and offers seven miles of blue flag beaches. It is near the market town of Christchurch with its 11th century Priory Church, ruined castle and Saxon mill, and the stunning medieval New Forest.

The area caters for diverse interests – the popular buzzing beach resort in Bournemouth with its vibrant nightlife; the gentler pursuits of walking, wildlife and bird-watching in the nature reserves and national parks, and along the 20 miles of Bournemouth Coast footpath; and active pursuits such as cycling, sailing, rowing, canoeing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sea kayaking. Popular also for touring, Southampton, the Isle of Wight, Salisbury and Stonehenge are all within reasonable travelling distance.

Dorset features some excellent museums, with world leading centres at Bovington (The Tank Museum, telling the history of military vehicles), and the Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery in Bournemouth. Other museums include the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester, The Red House in Christchurch, the Royal Signals Museum at Blandford, and the award winning Brewers Quay in Weymouth. Many smaller towns have their own local museums.

Canford Cliffs Chine is a Blue Flag beach, which is situated along Poole's 5km of sandy beaches nestled between Branksome Chine and Flaghead Chine. Poole harbour is a few minutes walk away which is popular with water sports enthusiasts and you will regularly see sailing, kite-surfing and windsurfing taking place. Sandbanks Beach is also just a short walk away and is known as one of the best beaches on the South Coast of England. The beach is of the finest quality with fine golden sand which gradually slopes away into the water ensuring it is safe for even the smallest of children. There are some very good facilities at Sandbanks including toilets (with full disabled facilities), showers, ice-cream kiosk and hot-dog/burger bars as well as the Sandbanks Beach Café which offers a selection of hot and cold meals and drinks throughout the year. There are also several kiosks and shops selling all the usual beach goodies such as inflatables, buckets and spades etc. There is a large and challenging crazy-golf course behind the beach front as well as a mini-golf course. A mini road train cruises up and down the promenade in the summer season. There is also often a wide selection of water sports available from the beach including parascending, inflatables, Bronco's or Ringos, kayaks, jet-ski hire and much more. Sandbanks itself is a small peninsula, which contains some of the most expensive houses and land in the country, in fact Sandbanks is becoming as famous for its well known residents and lavish lifestyles of some of its occupants as it is for its beach. One of the most famous and unique attractions of Sandbanks is the Sandbanks Chain Ferry, which shuttles between Sandbanks and Studland crossing at the mouth of Poole harbour. This is a truly amazing holiday home in an exceptional location.

"Lovely location - ideal for large family groups"

Fabulous location close to Bournemouth and Branksome Chine. Easy driving to a number of touristy destinations. We did experience issues with the heating and the house was cold when we arrived. We did get the override to work for an hour as per the directions, but then the override didn't work again for the three nights we were there and the heating was turning off early in the evening when it should have been going on. The tiles in the kitchen and high ceilings made the house quite cold without heating. However it was still a great house for our party of 16 with six children as there was lots of space to spread out.
