Manoir Le Cosquer is in the Cotes D'Armor region of Northern Brittany and close to the coastlines of Goelo and Granite Rose. These coastal areas are truly stunning and have miles of unspoilt sandy beaches, coastal pathways, small fishing ports, seafood restaurants perched on cliff edges. Adults and children can go crabbing, collect shells, wonder around the markets and villages, visit unspoilt islands, take a boat trip to the 7 Isles or walk the pathway at Ploumanach.

The Manoir is a beautiful and very old manor house just outside a small village in northern Brittany. It is about 1.5 hours from StMalo ferry terminal and an easy drive - we found it very easily. The village is quiet and pretty with a large store (huit a huit), a newsagents, pharmacist, vet and most importantly, a bakery. Our kids just loved walking into the village to buy fresh pain au chocolat each day (about five mins away). There are a number of towns with markets / nice restaurants within 15 mins drive and there are several beaches within about 20 mins. Alison and Mauro who own the Manoir are an English couple with two teenage daughters. They live next door and whilst they never intrude, they were always there if we needed anything. In fact we got along extremely well and our younger daughter spent hours playing with their kitten! The manoir is large and the type of place ideal for a big extended family or a group of friends. It is very peaceful but with lots to do for children and adults alike (slides, swings etc for children, lots of outdoors games for adults and children and a mini gym if exercise is your thing!). There was also a swimming pool (one of those temporary ones not permanent). Indoors, the large living room had a huge fireplace, a large TV with UK sky and a DVD player. Lots of board games and well stocked bookshelves too. The bedrooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. There are several options in terms of fold out beds if you have lots of children. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, large fridge and a wine cooler. There is a large dining room which I think seats 18! Whilst renting the Manoir may seem like a lot of money to find, you really can fill the place with a lot of people which would be very good value. I am already booking for next year. We cannot thank Alison and Mauro enough for their warm hospitality. |

The indoor area was a great bonus for the children and adults with the gym area, games & table tennis. Great park area at the back of the manor with lots of space and room for ball games, relaxing & walking. It is a very well located manor, easy to get to beautiful sandy beaches and other places of interest such as Treguier, Paimpol, the chateau de la Roche Jagu, the island of Breat and the pink grant coast of Ploumanach. All the bedrooms with private bathrooms, spacious reception rooms makes this the ideal place for family reunion. The great advantage is that the owners are there on site and very helpful. |
