About the home

Comfortable, well-equipped family holidays in a restored farmhouse. The property offers four bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en suite) and a large garden. NEW for 2011 - barn with pool table and table-tennis, and broadband installed. Local villages offer a range of small shops and supermarkets, the nearest approx 5 minutes drive; larger facilities 15 minutes drive to Pontivy. Lake beaches and restaurants within 10-15 minutes drive; coastal resorts an hour away.

No price increase for 2011.

The recently restored farmhouse is well equipped and cosy with feature fireplaces and log burners in the sitting room and large kitchen/family room - with countless novels, DVDs and games. The kitchen features a large range cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, table and chairs for up to 8, sofa, armchair, small LCD TV with Sky/Freeview channels. The sitting room has sofas for 8, desk with broadband for internet access, and large LCD TV/DVD (no Sky). The spacious ground floor bathroom has a roll-top bath and separate shower. The bedrooms have remarkable character with exposed beams, comfortable beds and all linen and towels provided.

The farmhouse has a large garden with a range of fruit trees overlooking open countryside and is ideal for games, or for children to run free and burn off some energy. The house boasts a wonderful patio/barbeque area and is gravelled to the front and side for car parking. Sun loungers and patio furniture are provided. NEW for 2011, the barn has been converted to a games room with pool table and table-tennis.

The Brittany / Morbihan region

Brittany enjoys a pleasant climate - generally a few degrees warmer than the south of the UK. The area is very picturesque and is steeped in history with visits recommended to Rennes, Josselin, Pontivy, Concarneau and Pont Aven.
Brittany's beautiful north and south coasts are both within an hour's drive with fantastic, safe beaches at Carnac, Benodet, Binic and Dinard well worth a visit.

The Pontivy / Treberien area

Brittany's largest lake Lac de Guerledan is just ten minutes drive away with superb views, three beaches with swimming zones, toilets, restaurants, and a range of watersports activities including waterski lessons, canoeing, fishing, jet skiing, pedaloes and motorboat hire.
The area is fantastic for cycling - either by the rivers and canals, or on part of the Tour de France route for the more adventurous. There are a range of golf courses in the area and horse-riding stables by the lake.
Most of the local towns hold thriving markets for a true taste of rural France. Local supermarkets, bakeries and butchers are within five minutes drive of the house and Pontivy offers an excellent range of shops and restaurants. The beautiful medieval town of Josselin is 45 minutes away, and the city of Rennes offers more sophisticated shopping and large department stores.
