It is a perfect spot for a family retreat in an unspoiled natural site unchanged for centuries.

The house adapts itself to the slope of the ground. Come to cozy up in its charming lounge or in its delightful library, both with a roaring fireplace to gather around. The dining room seats 10 guests and the kitchen leads directly to a beautiful verandah shaded by a centenary lemon tree. The villa has 4 double en-suite bedrooms, each with beautiful views of the leafy outside. The property, dominated by a traditional “hórreo”, gets lost into the forest, filled with mighty oak trees and mimosas.

The Galicia region

Galicia is like a box of chocolates. It has countless treasures and you won´t find easy to choose among the wide range of things that this land offers. From the closest to our house of La Xesteira, inmersed in enchanted forests, to some of the most beautiful seaside towns in the area. Saint James' Way is of course another Must: the pilgrimage route that has conferred international fame on Galicia as the zenith of the apostle´s pilgrimage since the Middle Ages.

Come and enjoy Galicia in every sense: from its wide cultural legacy and precious nature, to its exceptional gastronomy.

Pontevedra

Our house is immersed in the small village of A Xesteira, a place that keeps a long history of rural life. Cows still have priority through its paths and many of our neighbors still raise their own pigs, sheep and chickens ... what a treat those bright-yellow yolk eggs that Maruja used to give us!

Just taking a stroll around the village and its surroundings will be an open invitation to purify your soul, to take you away from everyday life and lead you into a world full of peace. Climb up the hill and you will see herds of wild horses. Go for a walk beyond La Rascadería and lie down on its gentle grass to count stars. Walk down the river Almofrei and follow its course through a leafy forest; browsing among the abandoned watermills that you'll find on your way is also a must. And if temperature rises, take a dip in the idyllic river pool, less than 200m down the hill from our house.

If you prefer a sea bath, bear in mind that our house is just 15km away form the coast. On clear days, you will see it on the horizon from our veranda. Endless sandy beaches are waiting for you to arrive and leave your mark in its wildest sand.

Gastronomy is another thing that will make your holidays unforgetable. Galician cuisine is a classic cuisine that seeks for the beauty of simple elements naturally combined. No tricks are required to offer good eaters the pleasure of a real gourmet experience. First quality raw materials carefully cooked in a loving and familiar way…

"Great location, peaceful and truly relaxing"

Fantastic property set in the heart of the country side of Pontevedra. Sara and Terasa have created a wonderful, peaceful and charming villa and where the perfect hosts – very attentive and helpful during our stay. The food of the region is phenomenal and sitting consuming this with a few glasses of local wine on the veranda was blissful. The daily delivery of break in the morning was a treat. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a retreat from the pressures of life. Thanks again Sara and Teresa.

"tranquilidad + naturaleza + casa preciosa"

"Secret Pearl in the North of Spain"

Everything of this villa is magic, my husband and I discovered this secret palace 2 years ago and we return each year for a 2 week break. It's a beautifully restored Galician villa surrounded with a big garden hidden in the woods. It has been modernised to have all comfort during a vacational stay but it remains loyal to the traditional architecture and decoration from the north of Spain. There are loads of great walks in the area over hills, in woods and along the long beaches...I cannot describe the beauty of the site! My children have a great time playing in freedom, it is a very calm and safe area. The living room is very cosy we love to prepare brunch when we wake up late, but we spend most of the time relaxing in the large verandah, which is simply great. Terrific seafood and wine, there are taverns and restaurants not far away from the villa! The best way to come for us is to rent a car from the airport, having a car is highly recommended as all the area is worthwhile seeing. Teresa, the owner, took care of every detail since the moment we contacted her. She has spent many vacations in this villa, it is part of her life, so she knows everything about the place. I appreciate people like her, she takes pleasure in making discover new paces to people. She proposed us small journeys, good gastronomie and explained us how to reach to the most beautiful part of the coast. She is always willing to help. We are already planning to return this spring with some friends!

"Perfect stay, charming place"

We traveled with friends, some couples and singles, just to hang around together with the privacy of a house without neighbors. Our stay was absolutely amazing.
The house is beautiful, lovely views and beautiful indoor spaces. Every detail has been taken care of, with all the mod-cons combined tastefully with a traditional look. It was the most comfortable house I've rented, luxurious! And it felt like a real home. We really enjoyed gathering around the fireplace, and for great meals in the dining room having endless conversations, drinks and music.
Hosts were very helpful, we felt so exclusive. They offered us a very singular and personalize attention advising us for the best plans to go for on the area. Surroundings are beautiful to go for walk. We were retired but also not too far from civilization by car, to do some day trips.
We learned that they had some other houses that we'd love to visit too, as we had such a good experience with "tecuento 3". Thank you Teresa!
