With world-class stadiums for rugby, football, cricket and athletics and an International Sports Village offering an Olympic size swimming pool, ice rink and Cardiff International White Water Centre - an Olympic standard canoe slalom.

Activities in Cardiff include walking and cycling along the Taff Trail and golfing (Celtic Manor golf course - home of 2010 Ryder Cup - within short travelling distance).

If you fancy going to watch a football or rugby game, Cardiff City Stadium (5 minutes away) hosts all of Cardiff City and Cardiff Blues' home games. Glamorgan cricket (venue for international cricket, including the Ashes) and Sophia Gardens (5 minutes walk).

You'll find a lively entertainment scene in and around Cardiff, which features opera, ballet, musicals, and live music from world-class acts.

Across the city, there are a range of theatres, galleries, museums, arts and live music venues. From the traditional to the ground-breakingly modern, from seating thousands to cosy intimate spaces, Cardiff the can satisfy every taste.

Pontcanna

Our property is located in Pontcanna district of Cardiff. This sophisticated part of the City has many restaurants, bars, boutiques and cafes to enjoy as well as miles of open parkland and walkways alongside the river Taff.

The centre of Cardiff is only 1 miles away making the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Castle, St. Davids' Hall, New Theatre and St. Davids 2 shopping centre are all within a 10 minute walk.

Even closer to the house is Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground Home to the Glamorgan Dragons and an International Test match venue.

Cycling

The Taff Trail is a multi-purpose route between Cardiff and the Market Town of Brecon in the North. 55 miles (88km) in length. A superb way to see South Wales. 0.4 miles

Walking

Cardiff's Centenary Walk is a great way to explore the city centre on foot, and find out more about how Cardiff became the city it is today. 1.4 miles

Water Sports

Cardiff International White Water (CIWW) - Canoeing and white water rafting facilities including kayaking, hydro speed and hot-dogging. All equipment can be provided. 2.5 miles

Fishing

Being a coastal city the areas around Cardiff have some superb sea fishing. Charter boats can be hired form Cardiff Bay. 2.5 miles

The river Taff is a recovering salmon river that also holds huge stocks of wild trout and Grayling. Day Tickets available from local associations. 0.4 miles

Golf

There are many courses in the area including the prestigious Celtic Manor, host to the 2010 Ryder Cup 18 miles. One of the closest courses is Cottrell Park,an idyllic venue set in the heart of 400 acres of beautiful Parkland. 6 miles

Pony trekking

Surrounded by 35 acres of parkland close to the City Centre is Cardiff Riding School. All aspects of horse riding and care are catered for. 1 mile

Beaches

With the Glamorgan Heritage Coast just around the corner there are numerous beaches to visit ranging from the bustling resort of Barry Island 9 miles to stunning Southerndown. 18 miles
