Bryn Bach is a three storey detached house set in a small picturesque hamlet between Aberystwyth and Tregaron. It is located on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains, with easy access to excellent walks and national cycle routes, making it idea for walkers, cyclists, anglers and nature lovers.
The size of the property makes it ideal for groups and larger families. It is surrounded by a large decking area, where you can relax and enjoy watching the red kites circling overhead, or have a barbeque. There is a large garden and small woodland area that guests are welcome to enjoy. Bryn Bach is surrounded by magnificent views of the surrounding fields and countryside, including a SSSI area designated to protect marsh fritillary butterflies.
There are a wide variety of natural environments to visit within a short drive from the property, from the Cambrian mountains, forestry including the Hafod estate, the raised bog of Cors Caron national nature reserve, the Elan Valley and the Welsh coastal path.
A village shop, post office and 2 pubs serving food are 3 miles away, with the seaside town of Aberystwyth, with many shops, restaurants and places to visit 12 miles away.
Local attractions include the red kite feeding station and mountain biking centre of Nant yr Arian forest visitor centre, Devil's Bridge waterfalls and Vale of Rheidol railway, Aberystwyth's cliff railway and camera obscura, Strata Florida abbey, Magic of Life butterfly house, National Trust Llanerchaeron and Dolaucothi Gold Mines, Fantasy Farm Park, Silver Mountain Experience and many others.
There are nice towns and villages to visit, including Tregaron with its Welsh Gold Centre, Aberaeron for tasty fish and chips and honey ice cream and New Quay to take a boat trip to spot dolphins or go fishing.
If you don't feel like cooking, there are plenty of places to eat nearby, from a meal at a country pub to fine dining or afternoon tea at Nanteos Mansion.
A welcome pack of essentials (bread, milk, welsh butter) is provided, along with a treat, along other essentials such as tea & coffee, herbs, spices oil etc. Initial supplies of dishwasher tablets, washing powder, toilet rolls etc are provided.
Bryn Bach sleeps up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms. The four bedrooms on the first floor are a king-sized double bedroom with ensuite shower room, 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. The double bedroom on the second floor has an ensuite shower room. The family bathroom on the first floor has a bath with overhead shower.
Towels and bedding are provided (except beach towels).
A high chair, a travel cot, stair gates, fire guard, baby bath and baby/toddler toys are available for younger visitors.
The living room has 2 large sofas, an armchair and a window seat. There is a brick feature fireplace with woodburning stove, initial logs are included in the welcome pack. For your entertainment, there is a large TV with freesat and DVD player and an ipod docking station. The cwtch is a small room off the living room with a sofa and hi-fi. There are lots of local information leaflets, books & maps. If you want to relax in front of the fire or on the decking, there are over 100 books (fiction & non fiction) to read, including a large selection of childrens books.
The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and filter coffee maker.
The dining room seats 8 comfortably or 10 cosily, with French doors leading onto the large decking area.
There is a baby grand piano in the slate tiled hallway. The downstairs WC leads off the hallway.
There is a games room on the second floor that includes a table tennis table and a large selection of board games for all ages. There are also outdoor games such as swing ball and pass the pigs.
Outside, there is a hardstanding driveway with parking for 5+ cars.
Fully enclosed decking area with outdoor seating and BBQ, secluded garden area with pond (uncovered) and a small woodland area.
Up to 2 pets are welcome in the tiled kitchen and hallway.
