This is a fully-fitted, comfortable, modern 2-bed apartment with terrace and sea view within a stunning 5* resort. Sunset Resort is a top class 5* development situated right on a lovely sandy beach, near to the charming old towns of Pomorie and Nessebar. It is just 15 minutes drive from Bourgas International Airport but you won't be disturbed by air traffic. The largest Bulgarian Black Sea resort - Sunny Beach - is near enough to enjoy the buzz and the night life, but far enough away to be able to avoid it! The apartment is in the main building: you can walk from the comfortable lounge through to the balcony and take in the stunning sea view or spy on your fellow holiday-makers cavorting in the pools below. You can eat in, or visit one of the several restaurants in the resort, or pop down to a local eatery in Pomorie or beyond. After dinner, your evenings at the resort could include a couch potato evening in the apartment watching a DVD, or you could go bowling (yes, there's a 6-lane bowling and games centre on-site!) or enjoy the evening entertainments, or just enjoy a drink at one of the many bars.

The resort amenities comprise direct access to the beach, several restaurants, a luxury Spa, 5 swimming pools, including a fabulous indoor pool, poolside bars, entertainment, water slides, a kids club, lovely landscaped gardens, gym and sports facilities, 6-lane bowling centre, snooker tables, shuffle-board & Fussball, table-tennis, cafes, bars, hair-dressers, shops and a children's play-ground. On the beach you can avail of jet-skis, para-sailing, banana boat and volley-ball... I'm tired just writing about it! Or you could just laze about in the sunshine... :-)

The Black Sea Coast region

The popularity of the Bulgarian coast and sea resorts has seen robust growth in recent years, following the fall of communism and the opening of borders to foreign tourists. The tourism industry has grown into one of the main drivers of the national economy with double-digit growth rates of the number of tourists each and every year. Bulgaria offers a budget alternative to more expensive European resorts, while quality of service matches that of Western European standards in high-class resorts such as Sunset Resort. You will be amazed at how far your pound or Euro will stretch, and the variety and quality of goods and services on offer is just as good as at home.

Soft, white sands and warm waters from May to September combined with beautiful scenery, protected nature reserves, and hundreds of places of interest along the coast make this an ideal holiday destination. You can visit outstanding nature reserves and bird sanctuaries, old pagan sanctuaries, remains of ancient Roman and Greek civilisations, cultural and historical monuments, charming old towns, buzzing modern shopping destinations and lots more besides. The local nature reserves are world renowned for bird-watching as many rare species can be seen here, drawn to the rich salt flats as an ideal stop-over on the annual migration.

Pomorie / Sunset Resort area

Sunset Resort itself is sumptuous, and has twice been awarded an International Property Award as the best development in Bulgaria. It outstrips local standards and meets the most discerning expectations. The buildings are designed to a Bulgarian theme, with beautifully landscaped gardens, pool areas, fountains and most importantly an immaculately clean beach just on your doorstep. It'd be hard to find a more pleasant environment for a relaxing and fun sun holiday. You'd never have to even leave the resort, but if you do, there are good quality hotels and beach bars either side of the hotel.

You will not believe how cheap it is to eat out around the area and how friendly the locals can be - the language barrier is droping all the time, and just learning one or two standard pleasantries in Bulgarian will earn you many smiles!

The town of Pomorie is a short taxi ride away (about £5) and there are local shops on your doorstep - just outside the resort. Pomorie is situated on a narrow rocky peninsula, jutting out 3,5 km in The Black Sea, 20 km away from Bourgas and 18 km away from the resort Sunny Beach. It's an ancient town whose founders were drawn to the curative properties of the nearby salt lake. Unfortunately a fire in the 1950s destroyed much of the old building, and it has been rebuilt in modern style, however, the centre of town retains a pleasant square, a lovely old church and has plenty of open-air cafes, play-ground for kids and family amusements.

The climate is extremely favourable: over 200 sunny days a year! The average air temperature in July is 25-27 degrees C, the shore is favoured by soft sea breezes, and the sea water is pleasantly refreshing. Even as the days shorten, the weather stays good with autumn temperatures around 20 degrees C.

There's a long natural sandy beach, with a fully open horizon to the east and to the west, framed to the north by the Balkan mountains. The shallow and flat coastal line make it safe for children and inexperienced swimmers. Pomorie Bay is great for watersports and much loved by amateur fishermen.

You're only a 15 minute drive from the lovely old town of Nessebar - it's so pretty and historic that it has been named a Unesco world heritage site. You can have a drink or a meal at a restaurant perched on the cliffs of this peninsular village, or browse the art galleries, shops, museums - just savour the atmosphere. Alternatively, the city of Bourgas with its shopping, urbane outdoor scenes at the Sea Gardens and lovely cafes, and added to the mix, there's an excellent shopping complex at Burgas Plaza mall where you can buy top brands for 50 -70% less than you would at home. And if you venture further South you can explore the old town of Sozopol which is gorgeous and the impressive beaches at Dyani.

The apartment is furnished and fitted out to a high standard - a home from home, there's even a TV in the master bedroom.

A baby cot is provided, along with a booster seat for you to use if you hire a car.

We have included a weekly cleaning service and your linen and towels changed will be changed once per week. If you wish to have this or other housekeeping services done more often, you can arrange this locally for a small extra charge.

You can arrange half-board or full-board basis with the resort if you wish, and they will also provide airport transfer if you wish - prices on request (generally slightly cheaper than the local taxi guys).

Further details outdoors:
The apartment itself has a generous terrace with a wonderful sea view and is right in the heart of the resort. There is a weekly barbeque at one of the restaurants, a great children's playgound, bike hire - you name it - at the resort. The pools are fabulous! On the beach you can go para-sailing, play volleyball or go mad on the banana boat. You can also hire jet-skis. At the pool you can join in - or completely avoid - organised water-sports. At the Sunset Cafe you can eat cake or do an exercise class. Every taste catered for here!

Oh, and in the unlikely event of a cloudy day, you can play table-tennis, go online at the business centre, use the indoor pool, sauna, steam bath, hydrotherapy or get a wonderful massage, facial, body treatment, or even a new hair-cut!

Your experience will be a perfect blend of having your own space AND being a guest at a 5* luxury resort. For example, they greet you at reception witha glass of bubbly and give you a card-key which doubles as your resort credit card and to which you can charge your meals, drinks etc. until you check out.

There are various charges associated with having an apartment in a resort like this, but we are absorbing all these as part of the rent. What you pay us covers electricity, weekly cleaning and linen change, departure cleaning and community charges.

Conditions

Refundable breakages deposit of £150 required max 2 weeks before your arrival, to be refunded within one week of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
30% of rental fee due at time of booking - this is to secure your booking and is part payment of the balance due max 2 weeks before your arrival.
You are responsible for your account with the resort covering all meals, drinks, etc.

We can accept payment by cheque, bank draft, Electronic Funds Transfer or by PayPal in Sterling or Euros. To confirm your booking we will require a deposit, and the balance will be payable, at latest, 2 weeks before the start of your rental.

'We stayed at this apartment in May with our two young children and could not recommend the resort and the apartment more highly. The overall complex offers everything you need for a good family holiday and the apartment offered all the luxury of a five star hotel with cooking facilities. We also enjoyed many of the nearby attractions including the winery and the slide and splash park. The resort is one of the nicest of its kind that I have ever been in and was unbelievably good value.'
