The Black Sea Coast region
The Black Sea beaches have virtually no tide which makes family bathing enjoyable and safe for children.The town of Sozopal can be seen across the bay from the apartment balcony and is a 30 minute drive away through the city of Bourgas. Nessabar and Sunny beach are a short 15 minute taxi drive North of Pomorie . Nessabar is especially interesting to visit with its Old churches and protected buildings, cobbled streets and shopping areas. Sunny beach is a hive of activity for every age group, the four mile long tourist area is filled with shops , restaurants, bars , night life , clubs etc.
Pomorie / Sunset Resort area
Pomorie is located on a small peninsula and is well-known as a spa resort. It's famous for its Mud Baths, which are very therapuetic . It has the old cobbled streets and has a charm and air of relaxation about it.
The Older part of Pomorie is a traditional Bulgarian coastal town and in the summer season provides a variety of pass times from shopping at the local street market stalls to numerous restaurants and bars. There is a local evening "shuttle train" from the resort to the more lively areas in Old Pomorie.The train is one lev (40p) and goes along the short stretch of road from the local bus station to the old town of Pomorie. It is a regular 15 minute service.
Bourgas ( the nearby city) has a large shopping area and is only 25 minutes away. It has open air cafe's and restaurants and good quality shops to satisfy every holiday makers needs for those vital presents to take home.
There is a local wine factory and wine tasting evenings are very popular
New Pomorie has many local shops serving the Pomorie residents and has a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, bakeries, corner shops, cafes and restaurants.
