The West Country / Cornwall region
Cornwall, situated in the far south-west of the UK, enjoys a great climate, superb beaches, traditional villages, harbours and good links to the UK and Europe. Nearest International Airports to this property are Exeter (1 1/4 hours by car) and Newquay (35 mins by car). Cornwall has fantastic holiday facilities for all ages including theme parks, cycle trails, National Trust houses, gardens, cliff walks, beaches, world-class restaurants and, of course, the Tate Gallery (St. Ives) and the Eden Project.
The Camel Estuary itself is, in our opinion, one of the most beautiful areas in the World. The beaches, bays and cliff walks have to be seen to be believed. This is why people come back year after year. There is certainly nowhere else like it. Out of season is even better.
Polzeath / Dunder Hill area
The property is situated within a short walk of Polzeath beach which is popular for surfing and is an ideal beach for all the family.
Polzeath has Atlantic facing beaches renowned for surfing, an excellent Farm Park various Shops Cafes and Restaurants. There are three eighteen hole Golf courses within a five minute drive of the property. Nearby Rock has great sailing and water sport facilities including fishing and boat trips with a regular Ferry/water taxi to Padstow. Daymer Bay is a sanctuary for children with a soft, sandy beach and rock pools. Try the fairly level walk between Polzeath and Daymer and you won't be disappointed! Hop across on the ferry/water taxi to Padstow, with its quaint streets, fishing harbour and superb dining choices, including Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant.
There are also some very pretty Cornish villages, many with traditional village Inns. Try the St. Kew Inn (approx. 4 miles) where Paul Ripley is the proprietor/chef (Michelin star at his previous restaurant). From farm parks to go-karts, garden centres to gentle walks, golfing to cream teas, Cornwall can be as action packed or as genteel as you like.

Brittany Ferries operate from Santander(Spain) & Roscoff(France) to Plymouth. Airlines operating to Newquay & Exeter airports include Airsouthwest, Flybe, bmibaby, jet2.com, Lufthansa, Skybus & Ryanair.
