The West Country region
North Cornwall is the home of Doc Martin, who hails from Port Isaac. As do the Port Isaac Fisherman's Friends sea-shanty singers.
Beautiful beaches, excellent water sports, stunning scenery mixed with Cornish Cream Teas combine for a perfect holiday.
Pefect for visiting Padstow, the home of Ric Steins restaurants, the upmarket Rock, surfing at Polzeath. Or venture to wondrous National Trust gardens, the Eden Project or enjoy in the various festivals around the year.
Trebetherick Point is a rocky, cliff outcrop separating Hayle Bay, Polzeath from Daymer Bay Beach to the South. The remains of shipwrecks can still be seen on the dangerous jagged rocks. It has long been a haunt of nature lovers, and recently has attracted celebrities and royalty, including Hugh Grant and Princes William and Harry and recently the PM David Cameron. The new St. Moritz development has enhanced its reputation. It is an area of outstanding beauty with a rugged coastline, un-spoilt beaches perfect for children (Big Cave is a must at low spring tides) and within easy access of the South West Coast Path.
