While its location allows those with younger children the opportunity to walk to the beach for a paddle, some pool fishing or to build sand castles, Polzeath and Rock provide opportunities for older children to master the art of surfing, sailing or water skiing.For those who want to enjoy the wonderful views, the North Cornish Costal footpath is 5 minutes from the house and a round of golf on the famous St Enodoc golf course allows the golf enthusiasts the opportunity to play on a great course.

A boat trip to Padstow is always a treat for the youngsters and from there a speed boat ride for the adventurous or a cruise around the headland gives one an opportunity to watch the wildlife.

At Easter and during the summer the St Endellion music festival provides an opportunity for music lovers to hear some of the best musicians perform in the delightful church in St Endellion.

There is a village shop in Trebetherick where essential supplies can be obtained and in Rock there is an excellent butcher, fishmonger and baker.

The West Country region

Polzeath on Cornwall's attractive northern coastline is famous for its magnificent beach. Vast Atlantic rollers roll across the mouth of the Camel Estuary, creating a surfer's paradise, whilst the large expanses of fine sand, makes Polzeath the ideal location for a family beach holiday.

As a bonus, there is the breathtaking scenery provided by the cliffs that run from Pentire to Port Quinn, Port Isaac and beyond to Clovelly in North Devon - wonderful, and in some stretches, challenging, walking country, full of wildlife and stunning vistas for you to enjoy.

For the more energetic The National Trust land at Pentire is an extensive carpet of wild flowers, at its best in the spring. Visitors can explore and enjoy the rich network of footpaths with the most spectacular scenery .Further afield Tintagel, King Arthur and Merlin or visiting the many English Heritage and National Trust Houses & Gardens


Visitors can hire bicycles from Padstow and cycle along the level Camel Trail cycle route to Wadebridge (an 11 mile round trip - the more adventurous can chose to continue on past towards Bodmin).

The journey takes you along the shoreline of the estuary, providing you with a wealth of opportunities to stop and watch the local wildlife (badgers, rabbits, herons, cattle egrets, swans and wading birds of all types). The trip is an easy introduction to the pleasures of cycling, with many seats along the route to stop and admire the view.

Pleasure, fishing and bird watching trips are available from nearby Rock and Padstow.

Rock is a small but very popular little hamlet with long stretches of find sandy beaches washed by the tidal waters of the Camel estuary.

"Absolutely Fantastic!"

This place is a little gem! Sleeping 9 people in this farm house was easy over 4 bedrooms. The kids all shared a 4 bed room with bunk beds which they loved, we popped a baby in the single room & the… More
