The West Country region

Cornwall is world renown for it's stunning coastlines, picturesque countryside and dramatic views. With golden sandy beaches, quaint harbours, rolling hills, lots of attractions, fine dining, water sports, scenic coastal paths, great pubs, some of the best surfing in the world, all with a backdrop of eye-watering beauty, it offers something for everyone. The Eden Project is about 40 minutes, Land's End an hour and a half, Newquay an hour, Plymouth under an hour and Truro just over an hour's drive. The neighbouring coastal town of Looe can be reached either on foot along the coastal path or by car or bus.

Polperro

The historic fishing village of Polperro lies 25 miles south west of Plymouth which makes it the perfect base for exploring the whole of Cornwall and South Devon. With lots of pubs and restaurants, it possible to dine out every night for a fortnight and not visit the same place twice. Polperro has its own beach and a sea-filled natural swimming pool below Chapel Rock. There are numerous other bays and beaches along the coastal path in each direction. With lots of souvenir shops, general stores, a post office, a bakery and a pharmacy, most essentials are readily available. There are regular boat trips from the harbour during the season and the bay is an ideal spot for kayaking and swimming. The stunning views have inspired artists, writers and photographers for decades and sea fishing off the rocks or harbour wall or crab fishing off the harbour wall is loved by kids and adults alike.
