The West Country region

The West Country is a world fo pretty fishing villages, tiny coves, golden beaches, luxuriant gardens and fascinating towns that draw visitors in to discover more.

Add to this the Cornish people and the their warm hospitality and you have the perfect recipe for a relaxing stay in one of England's mystical counties. Its Celtic past is marked with a wealth of monuments and mining heritage sites;and its artistic and working fishing communities are much in evidence.

Tales of smuggling have been passed down the generations, possibly becoming more embellished with each telling ! .

But there is no doubt that many of the small ports have fascinating histories that can be delved into in small museums that are a joy to explore.

Seaside lovers can relax on the golden sands of a popular family beach or seek out those hidden coves that offer more seclusion;there are certainly plenty to choose from in this part of Cornwall.Cornwall is one if the most popular holiday resorst where there is something to interest for the young and old, all within easy reach. With a good holiday climate, families can enjoy the sandy beaches with caves and rock pools. Historicaly known for the smugglers and fishing, All of Cornwall is near the sea, with fishing trips and sight seeing boat trips. The coastal walks attract many a holiday makers. Lands End, The Eden Project, Carnglaze Caverns with Under ground lake. Bodmin Moor ( Jamaica Inn ).

Polperro is known for its history of smuggleing, find out more at the smugglers museum. The streets remain as they were hundreds of years ago very narrow and not suitable for the modern day car. A car park is at the entrance to Polperro with a tram service available..

Fascinating pubs (The Three Pilchards) Cream Tea tea rooms, Cornish fudge shop, many excellent restaurants and pasty shops. The sandy beach (no dogs) Fishing trips and boat rides along the coast.
