About the home

This is a wonderful two bedroom cottage situated on the harbourside in the pretty seaside village of Polperro. An all-year-round cottage offering romantic breaks to family summer holidays.
Situated in the middle of the village all of the facilities you would need for a wonderful seaside holiday are on your doorstep.
Alternatively - just sit in the large bay window and watch the world float by in the harbour.

The Anchorage has a bright and airy seaside theme with many personal touches that make it feel like a home-from-home. The open plan downstairs has a fitted shaker style kitchen with plenty of equipment for any budding or experienced chef. The lounge with it's wonderful views of the harbour has comfortable leather furniture a window seat in the large bay window and a great games cupboard. Upstairs there are two good sized bedrooms, one double one twin, both with plenty of luggage/storage space.

There is also a lovely shower room on this floor.
The cottage is decorated in seaside blue and white and has seaside artwork throughout.

Further details outdoors:
The Anchorage is situated in the traffic free Warren, so no cars can come by the front door. On the other side of the cottage you have the harbour with wonderful views. This is a harbourside cottage.

Access to the cottage is by foot or previously booked luggage taxi - cars cannot park outside the Anchorage - please call Giles for more information.

The West Country / Cornwall region

South Cornwall is a secluded and beautiful part of the West Country, making it the perfect retreat at any time of year. The area offers a true escape with wonderful beaches and pretty villages.

Polperro is a chocolate box picture village with many whitewashed cottages clinging to the hillside. The tiny harbour is where you will find the Anchorage, perched on the harbourside.

The Polperro area

Polperro is a beautiful old fishing village on the South coast of Cornwall in an area that benefits from a generally warmer and gentler climate than other parts of the UK. A BBC programme has given it the title the prettiest village in England .

Polperro has the luxury of a working fishing harbour where there is always something going on whether it's landing the catch, people sauntering to the small beach at low tide or artists capturing their favourite view. There are numerous pubs,often with live music, and many restaurants and cafes catering for every taste and budget. At the turn of every corner you'll discover fascinating shops and art galleries.

For the energetic try the South West Coastal path that runs right by the cottage either walking East toward Looe or West toward Lansallos and Polruan.

If you can tear yourself away from the village visit such attractions as The Eden Project, The Monkey Sanctuary, Lost Gardens of Heligan and many more within easy reach. Then come back to the Anchorage, sit in the bay window and watch the world go by.

“Home from home in Polperro” From the moment we arrived at the 'Anchorage' my partner and I both felt that we were borrowing a friends house and not a holiday let. An extremely, clean and well equipped house situated in Polperro's picturesque harbour, simply idyllic. Try the food in the Three Pilchards across the harbour from the Anchorage, I guarantee you won't starve as the portions are massive and well priced!......would we return..you bet, have already booked for the summer.
