The Cornwall region

Talland Bay lies between Looe and Polperro and is one of the most memorable and secluded coves along the coastline of South Cornwall. It has three small beaches flanked by a rocky foreshore and a beautiful undeveloped coastline.

The quiet hamlet of Talland consists of a scattering of houses and cottages and an ancient church, away from the busy tourist areas further to the north and west. The idyllic bay is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, forms part of the Heritage Coast Cornwall, and was once renowned for smuggling.

The Bay community, set on a secluded hillside with direct access to the shore, is a haven of tranquillity, so rarely found in such an accessible location. It is a perfect location for walking, fishing and cycling or just relaxing and enjoying the views.

Polperro

The Southwest Coastal Path gives wonderful cliff-top walks east to the fishing port of Looe or west to the picture-postcard village of Polperro, one of the prettiest harbours in Cornwall. Both Looe and Polperro have many excellent restaurants and cosy pubs with local seafood, of course, a speciality.

The area is home to stunning golf courses including Looe, Lostwithiel, the internationally renowned St. Mellion and the dramatic cliff-top courses of Carlyon Bay and Whitsand Bay.

Within a short drive lies Fowey with its picturesque harbour and sailing centre and further inland is the Eden project, whose futuristic “biomes” contain plants from around the world and which is the most visited tourist destination in Cornwall.

For those in search of a faster pace, a 40 minutes drive brings you to Newquay, home to the Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay Zoo and the vibrant surf scene at Fistral Beach

"The Future of Holiday Rentals"

I spent a wonderful week at The Bay, Talland over Easter 2014 with my wife and two children (12 and 8). The property was immaculate, contemporary, spotless and fully equipped with everything you would need for a luxury short break or holiday. Located on the cliff top overlooking Talland Bay the area is home for around 40 villas that are all different but feature the very latest tech and comforts of a high quality hotel except you have one each. The site is designed around a communal pool with sauna and a great bar and lobby area close to all the properties. My children loved the pool and the games console in the lobby where they could play and swim with new friends. It was also nice to share a beer with other staying for the same week. The site was quiet and the grounds perfectly maintained. The area around Talland is stunning and the 5th Century Church with a commanding position on the cliff is a must see - sit on the bench at sunset and I dare you not to want to stay forever. Would I recommend The Bay at Talland? For the friendly and helpful staff - yes. For the exceptional quality of the houses and everything in them - definitely. For the location on the rugged and beautiful Cornish Coast - absolutely. Most of all I would recommend spending some time here to experience how holiday rentals should be done. Outstanding all round - a perfect place to get away and focus on quality family time. Richard and his happy family.

Dear Richard, wow - what a review! We're so happy that you had a great break with your family and you managed to explore the area as well. 33 is an especially lovely house and I know the owners will be really pleased to hear that you appreciated all the extra touches in the property. We hope to welcome you all back to Talland soon, Many Thanks, The Bay Talland Team
