About the home

Boatman's Cabin boasts a wealth of character with its many beams, whitewashed curvy walls and stone and wood flooring. The property has extremely well presented rooms and tasteful cottage style furnishings which enhance the true historical beauty of this wonderful Cornish gem. The cottage is spacious and benefits from: downstairs: largely fully fitted kitchen, spacious lounge/diner with flat screen TV, log burner and large comfortable sofas.

Stairs within the lounge leading to 1st floor where you will find a very useful snug lounge with flat screen TV and extra seating, leading to a twin bedroom, and good sized family bathroom with shower cubicle and bath. 2nd floor boasts bunk bedroom and light and airy double bedroom.

Outside to the front there is one parking space for a small-medium sized car. There is an additional car parking space approx. 5 mins walk from the cottage for a larger vehicle. The cottage has undergone a good degree of refurbishment in recent years, and this coupled with the fabulous harbour side location must make it a "must to be considered".

Facilities

Further details indoors:
26" Flat screen t.v. in the lounge with Free view channels and DVD, log burner which guests may use. Separate snug lounge with sofa bed within for an extra guest and seating in the snug: 2 seater sofa and 2 bean bags. Please note the twin bedroom on the 1st floor has a restricted door width of 20" for access into it.

Dining area is within the spacious lounge with table and seating for 6. Family bathroom has a lovely repro Victorian bath on ball claw feet (smaller than average in size) with separate shower cubicle, wash hand basin and w.c.

Heating is by way of storage heaters in most of the rooms with the exception of double bedroom which has a free-standing electric heater and bunk bedroom with electric wall attached heater.

Please note the cottage is very historical and some of the stairways can be narrow and the beams are low in places.

Parking for 1 small to medium car directly outside, although parking is advised by way of a space a 5 min walk away as this will accommodate a much larger vehicle. Please contact us for more details.
25% deposit taken plus an additional £25.00 admin fee by debit/credit card. All arrivals less than 6 weeks away - full payment is due.

The West Country / Cornwall region

Boatman's Cabin lies enviably in the hub of Polperro, less than 40m from the bustling fishing harbour where you can still watch the fishermen sort their catch today, and less than a minute walk from the small beach - fantastic! Polperro itself has a smugglers museum to visit, lovely village square surrounded by some well acclaimed restaurants and shops. The streets are quaint and some are traffic free, leading out along the harbour, making this a fairly quiet and peaceful little village.

There are a few convenience stores for provisions and a fantastic fish market on the quay. Many beautiful walks can be enjoyed from Polperro and one whic takes you to the neighbouring fishing town of Looe where there are many pubs, shops, restaurants, art galleries and long sandy beach and bustling working fishing harbour. To drive to Looe would take approx. 5 minutes.

The Polperro area

Polperro has many boat trips on offer such as fishing trips where you can catch your own dinner or coastal cruises taking you along the coastline to another coastal town called Fowey, or even to Looe. There is much to see and do in Polperro and it forms an ideal base to discover the rest of Cornwall as it lies 40 mins drive from the Eden Project, 1 hour 15 mins drive from the Cornish city of Truro, 30 mins drive from Bodmin Moor and 1 hour 15 mins drive will also see you on the North Coast where you will find some more dramatic coastal scenery.

Polperro lies amidst some truly breathtaking coastal scenery, where for the avid walker, would find themselves in heaven, and those not wishing to walk it, will realise that within every few miles driven, you will find another cove or bay, all within a few miles of the cottage. The location in my opinion is unbeatable, the cottage is convenient to everything in Polperro, and at the same time within easy access to all the main routes to other places of interest throughout Cornwall.
