The Cornwall region
Polperro, a few miles along the coast from Looe, is an enchanting jumble of cottages, each one unmistakably the work of a Cornish fisherman.
Fowey Pronounced Foy to rhyme with joy. Situated on the south coast of Cornwall between Looe and Mevagissey, Fowey is not only an historic town but also a commercial seaport.
Talland Bay is a small and quiet place midway between Looe and Polperro. Here you can explore the rockpools, take a dip in the sea or sit back with a cream tea and watch the waves go by.
Porfell Wildlife Park is a wild family attraction only a few miles from Looe. It offers sanctuary to more than 250 animals from around the world.
Looe harbour is one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Cornwall. Its greatest attraction is the lovely sandy beach which borders the harbour shops and cafes.
Eden Project From clay pit to world-famous visitor attraction, the Eden Project is a famous world environmental attraction.
Plymouth Hoe is the natural heart of Plymouth with its stunning views of one of the most perfect natural harbours in the world.
Visit the UK's largest aquarium and be amazed at the fascinating underwater world and how we all play a part in conserving it.
Monkey Sanctuary Set in beautiful woodland overlooking the picturesque Cornish Coast, The Monkey Sanctuary has been offering a safe home for monkeys in need since 1964. Much more than just monkeys, they offer a great day out for the whole family.
South West Coastal path
Where else can you walk along 630 miles of such superb coastline? The heritage, wildlife, geology and scenery along the way are truly inspirational and every day walking it brings stunning new experiences.
Nestled away down a country lane with stunning countryside views is Killigarth Manor Holiday Park. Holidaymakers return here year after year to stay. A public footpath from the park leads down to Talland Bay, a magical cove with great rock pools for the kids to investigate and a beach cafe with Cornish cream teas you'll never forget. On park there's something to keep everyone happy from adventure playground, soft play room, crazy golf and Foxy Club for the children to a tennis court, gym and sauna for Mum and Dad plus everyone can enjoy splashing around in the indoor pool with separate toddler pool.
Just a mile and a half from the park you'll find the fishing village of Polperro with its narrow, winding streets and cottages perched on steep slopes overlooking a tiny harbour.
Visit and you may want to stay - for ever!
This sunny corner of South Cornwall where Killigarth Manor Holiday Park is situated offers easy access to many of the famous Cornwall attractions such as the Eden Project and Plymouth Hoe as well as some of the lesser known ones. Pop down into Polperro Model Village to explore the village in miniature as well as the Land of Legends which tells the tale of Cornish folklore right back to days of King Arthur and Merlin.
Visit Polmartin Riding to enjoy a horse ride through 60 acres of Cornish landscape where you'll experience fantastic views of the seas and moor. You don't have to be an accomplished rider - there's something for all ages and abilities (even Dad)!
If you like cute and furry animals, Portfell Wildlife Park is for you. Just 5 miles away in Liskeard, you can meet meerkats, marmosets and Lemurs to name but a few. Just make sure the kids don't try and smuggle one home in their jumper.
