Finca Trota
About the home
Finca Trota is a wonderfully spacious farmhouse-style villa with well-kept gardens and a child-friendly pool. It's in a beautiful valley outside Pollenca, full of olive trees and grazing sheep, and there are superb views all around of the Son Vila mountains.
It's in a private location down a long driveway from the Palma road. It shares this private road with the beautiful villaparade house Finca Ros Y Trota, just a few minutes walk away, (id 318) and so groups of up to 20 people can holiday together at these two houses.
Finca Trota is a great house for dinner parties. There's a farmhouse-style kitchen, perfect for ambitious cooks, with an extra large oven and a double fridge-freezer! And there's plenty of workspace with a long run of marble counter-tops, with dark wood cupboards and a large breakfast table.
There's another long table, to seat up to eight people, in the dining room and lounge. This room also has a wood-burning stove, satellite television, a dvd and a cd. All the rooms in the house are at ground level and all have great views out across fields and trees. There are two large twin bedrooms which share a lovely light bathroom with a shower and a bath. The double bedroom has its own luxurious en-suite bathroom. And all the bedrooms also have air-conditioning.
The villa is surrounded by beautiful gardens with lots of lawns, palm trees and a pool. A covered terrace runs along one side of the house, with dark wood terrace furniture, a table-tennis table and a barbecue. There are gorgeous open views from here of the fields, farmland, orchards and mountains of the valley.
Finca Trota is a lovely holiday house for families or groups of friends. It's in a beautiful countryside location and yet the beaches of Puerto Pollenca and the historic town of Pollenca are only a short drive away.

The Pollensa area
The countryside around Pollenca Old Town and Puerto Pollensa is amongst the most stunning and picturesque in the Mediterranean. Lush green dramatic valleys, litterered with grazing mountain goats and sheep and beautiful rural famrland hillsides dotted aournd picturesque monasterys and farms are the typical view from your garden here. The great advantage here is that you are only within 5-10 minutes drive of supermarkets, restaurants and bars of the old Town and Puerto ollensa shoudl you wish to drag yourself away. Choose one of our private villas or farmhouses here to appreciate this stunning lcoation and be the envy of your friends.
Pollença Old Town is a peaceful and tranquil town that remains very typically Spanish. It is four miles from the coast, nestling between two hills at the eastern end of the Tramuntana mountains. Pollença itself is indisputably pretty. Historic buildings with ochre roofs, sun-baked walls and wooden shutters line the narrow and twisting medieval streets. There are pastel-painted houses in the centre and Moorish water mills on the outskirts. It's also a haven of sleepy Mallorcan traditions - café life and the siesta roll on here as they always have. The heart of the old town is the central square, Plaça Major, where there are many café-bars and fine restaurants. Pollença also has lots of galleries of Mallorcan art and design, and a town museum. The most famous walk in Pollença is up the 365 steps of the tree-lined 'Calvario' - the Calvari Hill. There is a tiny church at the top with amazing views over the town and across wooded valleys to the sea
Puerto Pollensa is host to long sandy beaches that curve around the bay and are divided by breakwaters and so are ideal for children. There are also a number of small, natural, sand and pebble beaches to explore. The atmosphere in Puerto Pollensa is relaxed with no loud discos or nightclubs, but a fine variety of open-air cafés, restaurants, boutiques and shops.
Local knowledge
Taste: Pollença old town boasts some of the best restaurants on the island. From traditional Mallorcan to international cuisine, each has its own blend of atmosphere and tradition. 0
Weekly Market: It's especially lively in Pollença on market day, every Sunday morning, with stalls selling fruit, flowers, local crafts, clothes and household goods.
Discover: Pollença is nestled between two hills. One of these hills is Puig de Maria with an 18th-century monastery perched on the summit - a walk to the top is well worth the effort for spectacular views over Pollença and down to the sea.
Supermarkets: Large SYP/ Eroski Centre situated just off the main Pollença to Puerto Pollença, plus two in the town centre.
Villaparade first discovered the unspoilt Pollença region twenty years ago and fell in love with the wonderful countryside all around - from the dramatic mountains to the lush valleys. Since then we're very proud to have built up a collection of some of the finest holiday villas and apartments in and around the area. Our principle resorts are the historic medieval town of Pollença and the sheltered sandy bay of Puerto Pollença which are detailed on the following pages.Other areas of the Pollenca region in which our villas are located are:
Cala San Vicente, another of the best-kept secrets in the North of Mallorca. It's a quiet and relaxed resort surrounded by mountains with pine-covered slopes that run down to the sea. The sparkling blue waters and the three sandy coves are very child-friendly. The spectacular countryside here is also ideal walking country, popular with ramblers and painters.
Bonaire is an exclusive residential area on the peninsula around the bay of Pollença towards Alcudia with a pretty marina called Puerto Cocodrilo and a lovely sandy beach called Mal Pas. Son Serra de Marina with its appealing marina and sandy beach is 8km from the larger resort of Ca'n Picafort which shares the same sweeping bay as Alcudia. Ca'n Picafort's lively but friendly and relaxed atmosphere is ideal for families and couples.
